    Does anyone know how to...

make a video like the nba "where amazing happens" commercials?

I cannot figure out how to do the simplest thing ever and make an image slighty grow bigger with a line of text somewhere.

Here they are if you haven't ever seen one.

I have the music for it, but am blanking on any idea on how to do it.

    What program are you using?

Perhaps you could try using a scale tool and create beginning and end points. The end point should have it scale to the largest size you want and the beginning point will have it at the size you want it to begin at. If you already know what you're doing with an editing program then I'm sure you can figure out how to use a scale to make this happen and have the image grow bigger over that timeline.

The only issue is that the scale will cause a low res image to pixelate as it grows bigger. I would advise using a larger image and having it start off smaller than it already is so the image will be clearer.

Not sure if that helps at all.

I'm pretty sure Movie Maker will let you do it.

I've never used it so I'm not sure how to direct you in the right path. First thing though is to find the effects palette.

If Movie Maker is anything like the other programs I've used (and both Final Cut and Vegas work like this so I'm assuming Movie Maker does to) when you select to change the image size or scale the image there should be a timeline that comes up with this effect.

In that timeline you should be able to drop key points. Basically, that timeline will allow you to control how quickly/slowly the image scales in size. There should be other options like controlling the size. Play around with that if you can find it.

One thing to note, it seems like the images in those videos have also seen Photoshop. The LeBron image confirms that for me because as he gets bigger so does Varajeo. And since LeBron and Varajeo are connected in that clip it seems to me that the images were cut out of the full picture. Then that image was placed on top of the original picture. I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

I don't know how it was done but before I mess with the scale (obviously, play with it first to learn how to do it. I'm just explaining how I would have done this if someone asked me to) I would go into Photoshop and cut out the image I want to control.

So if it's Kobe dunking a basketball with three other guys watching, I'm cutting out Kobe and the basketball and clipping the other guys out.

Then I take the original picture and place that in my editing program. After that I take the edited Kobe picture and place it on top. Now when I control the scale of that Kobe picture it'll appear as if it's the same picture being altered when it reality it's just another image. Since the image is getting larger it'll cover the original version hiding behind it. So you shouldn't see Kobe in the original picture behind the altered Kobe getting larger.

That might be crazy confusing. I used to do this sort of thing with superhero cards. Take two of the same card, cut out the superhero from one card, then take straws and glue and attach the cutout picture to the straws with the glue. Finally, place the straws on top of the original card. Place both cards inside a plastic card case. Now when you looked at it, it made the superhero appear as if he's popping out in 3D while the rest of the image remained in the background. Fun stuff.

I don't think you can scale images in WMM (Not 100%, I'd have to check.)

If you want to recreate the Where Amazing Happens ad you're gonna need photoshop. As YP said you need to cut out players and/or body parts and scale/pan them proportionally at a different size to the original image.

MessenjahMatt is really the only person to do it right (on youtube at least), as everyone else who does it just scales images up and down and puts text on the video.

Not sure if you're just messing around and want to scale images or if you actually want to try and do it.

I went the lame way and just scaled images up/down. I used windows story maker 3. Cool little program. You import your pictures and have how you want to scale them and the transitions, then you can add music, and it saves it as a .wmv

That would be great if someone did a real-life version of that video, including the shot of him clutching the trophy and crying.

I would probably lose it if someone did that.
