    Riddle/Math Problem

3 guys go into a buffet. The price is $10/person, so they each give the cashier $10. For a total of $30. The cashier realizes that they are running a special...3 for $25. So she hands five $1 bills out of the til to the waiter and tells him to give it back to the 3 customers. They tell him to give them each $1 back and he can keep the remaining 2 dollars.

So here is what you have.....
Each customer paid $10 - $1 they got back, so $27 total.
They gave the waiter $2 tip.

That's only $29, they came in with $30, where'd it go?
    Chalepa Ta Kala.....

    Re: Riddle/Math Problem

Theres nothing missing. It works out like this:

    Each man is out of $9. $9 x 3 = $27.00
    Each man still has $1 in their pockets $1 x 3 = $3
    $27 + $3 = $30

It really didn't go anywhere it's just the logic that is wrong.

      $25 for the buffet + $3 returned to the guys = $28 + $2 tip = $30

It reminds me of this riddle: A father died and left his 3 sons 17 horses. in his will he said: first son will get 1/2 of the horses. Second son will get 1/3 of the horses. The third son will get 1/9 of the horses.
        What should the sons do?

True, and I didn't leave out any part, that's the solution. U can add 1 more and then u have 18, and then when u share the horses u have a total of 17 (and u don't need the 1 u added). When I first saw it I solved it. The trick is to think about the common denominator (or whatever u call it) and u see it's 18. then u can share the horses. That's the solution u need to suggest on your own. It's a riddle, I can't give the solution, u know.

Based on the 100 or so times prior to now that I've seen it, you did.

It's a riddle. If u want me to give u the solution right away - no problem. Just don't call it a riddle.

I know its a riddle, but he seriously leaves out 1/18th of the horses. Who do they go to?

You left out the most important part.
