Was wondering if anyone here took weight loss pills and if so, which ones did you take and would you recommend them?

Re: Weight loss pills?
I'd say keep doing what you're doing. Keep in mind that billions of dollars are made each year on people believing these new and improved pills will work. They are all basically the same thing: a little caffeine and other crazy herbs that are supposed to speed up weight loss.
Nothing beats proper diet & busting your *** in the gym.
Just remember that 99.9% of those people who buy pills are repeat buyers because they get caught up in the "next great thing"...which is really a promise in a bottle...or lie.
However, have I ever taken one? Yes. I took an EAS fat burner. Honestly it probably did nothing but I was on a good diet with a good exercise plan and it can help serve as a motivator.
If you're going to diet/exercise a pill will not hurt your progress. Many people believe that the pill will nullify their poor eating decisions.Comment

I'm on a 1600 - 1800 calorie diet (Weight watchers, but after checking the caloric intake it is about that) and try to run a game of hoops or 2 every other day..with off days shoot around for 30 mins at a good pace..
Was just wondering if anyone has taken anything where it really did show improvement..Comment

Re: Weight loss pills?
I know a guy who has taken them, can't remember the name of them, but they worked. He worked out, but didn't really eat better. He only takes like 1 bottle and then would wait awhile until taking them again because those things can mess with your system.Comment

Re: Weight loss pills?
I took Hydroxycut and I don't know if it worked or not. Like stew said I was working out/eating healthier so I like to think that played a major role. I stopped taking them because they made me feel like crap, rapid heart beat, trouble sleeping some nights, and just an overall un-easiness that's hard to explain.Comment

I tried Hydroxycut 7-8 years ago and was shaking after I took it and my heart was pounding when I was sitting in a chair.

Just keep doing what you're doing. If you've already lost 40 lbs, you're doing a great job.

Re: Weight loss pills?
I've taken Hydroxycut and Lipo 6. I would never recommend either as the main way to weight loss, but they will help shed some extra pounds. I think the biggest thing if you decide to take them is to follow the instructions, which a lot of people don't.
My last year of college I took a lot of Hydroxycut to lose some weight before going to Florida for spring break and I noticed a difference when the only exercise I did was sit ups and push ups four times a week. I'd say the biggest thing is watch what else you take with them. When I was taking Lipo 6, I was also taking OTC allergy medicine and daily vitamins and there were many days I would feel dizzy as ****. Ideally, I wouldn't take a weight loss pill with anything else besides a vitamin.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Weight loss pills?
I just decided to get a multivitamin with EGCG. Thanks for all your input, though. It was helpful. Seems like 75% say don't do it and then there is a handful who say do it, but it's only going to do a little extra help. Not worth the risk for me then.Comment

Re: Weight loss pills?
I'm trying to shed a little bit of fat so I bought Lipo 6 yesterday and am gonna see if it helps. I'm also taking green tea extract. I'm lifting pretty hard and getting in a good amount of cardio, along with a diet so we'll see if this helps to speed up the process.
Edit: Something that I've read that works for most people is ephedra, though it's banned for use in diet pills, but still easy to obtain legally.Comment
