Question on Blood Tests
I took a surprise crp blood test today. My parents took me to the doctor right after swim practice and didnt answer any of my questions. Lets just say that I did something that I was not supposed to do yesterday.

Re: Question on Blood Tests
The CRP blood test, or C Reactive Protein test, is one of the four essential blood tests in determining your risk for developing heart disease. It is very important that you have a crp test as well as the three other tests we discuss on this site to determine what steps you must take to prevent heart conditions from developing further.
The CRP blood test is relatively new and its significance has been the topic of much recent discussion in the medical community. The CRP blood test analyzes your blood for the presence of substances called C Reactive Proteins. The C Reactive Proteins are indicators of inflammation in the blood.
Recent studies have shown that this inflammation is a very accurate predictor of future heart problems. Elevated levels of c reactive protein may also double your risk of a stroke.
Therefore, it is crucial that you make sure you get a CRP blood test as part of your regular checkup to make sure that you do not have elevated levels in your bloodstream. The CRP test can determine your risk of heart disease by measuring C Reactive Protein levels in the body. It is one of the four major blood indicators of heart disease risk, along with cholesterol, triglycerides and homocysteine. All four of these markers should be checked regularly and treated if found to be too high. -

Re: Question on Blood Tests
If it was a "CRP" test, then it's not even about that.
Assuming your parents lied to you and gave you a drug test, then it depends on the illegal substance. If it's a powder or liquid, you're probably fine. Most likely, you smoked marijuana, in which you'd be dead to rights in a blood test.Comment

Re: Question on Blood Tests
Well I asked the nurse herself when i was in the room. My mom had to get her blood drawn too that day. So I dont think they randomly decided to drug test me.Michael Phelps for 8 gold medals in Beijing 2008
