    Peanut butter and jelly

One of the simplest, yet most delicious sandwich ever. I just want to know how you make it?

I put peanut butter on both sides of bread then throw globs of jelly on one side. Grab the non jelly side put it on top of the jelly side and enjoy.

Some times i just use bananas instead of jelly, its great!

With Raspberry Preserves and creamy peanut butter of course you have to put the PB on each slice of bread.

I used to use three pieces of break and put PB on two of them. Put jelly on the middle piece and put it on the PB piece and then put jelly behind the PB piece and stick the PB piece on there. Man they were delicious.

I just do PB on one slice, jelly on the other, then combine.

But the Jelly HAS to be cold. Preferably, the entire sandwich is cold... like, you make it in the morning, then keep it in the refridgerator until lunch.

          Re: Peanut butter and jelly

I normally use creamy PB and raspberry preserves for my standard PB&J (which I make at least 3 times a week as a snack). I put the jelly on first (since you can easily clean it off on the bread) and then put the peanut butter on. I don't do the double-sided peanut butter thing because it gets to be too much (plus, it's extra fat/calories and I don't notice the difference in the sandwich really).

My all-time favorite PB sandwich is a mix of creamy and extra crunchy peanut butter (thin layer of creamy and then gobs of chunky randomly on top), thin-sliced red apples (use Fuji/Gala), and honey. I've also been known to make peanut butter/honey/potato chip sandwiches when I have original Lay's around the house -- try that **** for real! Nothing like that sweet/salty combination.

I'm a peanut butter fiend for sure. Bananas are great with PB sandwiches (no jelly, only honey or plain), as are pears actually. I've never made the infamous Elvis Heart Attack Special with bacon and PB, but I will try it someday because I definitely see the appeal.

Plus, one I've eaten this (the ridiculously awesome Maple Bacon Bar from Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR):

ah man I could a PB&J every day and damn near do.

I make it with wheat bread, peanut butter on both sides of the bread and some strawberry jelly in the middle. In fact I think I'm gonna go have one now...

                  Re: Peanut butter and jelly

Hah, you gotta try it to understand (and yeah, that's not the best picture). The concept is basically pancakes + syrup + bacon... so the "pancake" is a semi-sweet doughnut, the "syrup" is the maple frosting, and the bacon.. well, is the bacon. It's something that I balked at when I heard about it ("Jesus, how fat do people want to get?"), but after I saw the look of sheer joy on Tony Bourdain's face when he ate one, I knew I had to go try it when I was visiting my brother. We had the exact same reaction... it's somewhere between bewilderment and sheer, transcendent inner joy. All we could do was look at eachother and laugh as we both devoured our Maple Bacon Bar. Epic.

The Ol' Dirty Bastard is great too (Oreo crumbles on top, chocolate frosting, and melted peanut putter drizzled on top.

Here's their website -- they're legendary in the Portland area: http://www.voodoodoughnut.com/index.html Really top-quality doughnuts and the wacky factor is off-the-charts (weddings, Swahili lessons, cream-filled dick doughnuts for bachelorette parties). They've made Pepto Bismol, Caffeine, and Ny-Quill doughnuts, but the FDA said that you can't sell food made with medication hahaha... Apparently the owner has made a successful Jagermeister doughnut, but it's not on the menu...

grilled peanut and jelly ... try it ....

the challenge is getting the butter on one side and the the pb&j on the other ... and no you can't do it while it's on the stove.

Just put the sandwich together as normal. Then butter one side and start that side cooking first. When it's in the pan, brush the other side with butter before you flip it... that's the way I always do it with my grilled cheese and tuna melts.

And yeah, they're good, though very messy... the peanut butter basically turns to liquid. We used to do a crazy "grilled" PB sandwich at the deli I used to work at... it was Peanut Butter, bananas, and marshmallow fluff grilled on the panini press... pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, PBJ is just a classic. I had two of them last night actually.

Peanut butter & honey sandwiches also are extremely tasty.
