Why is my urine still not clear on a consistent basis?

I must drink five or six bottles of water, and water only, in an eight hour period. I pee about 5 times in that 8 hour period (honestly, the lady whose office is near the bathroom must think I'm crazy as often as I walk in there), but my urine is often yellow. It's not as dark of a yellow as it used to be when I drank a lot of pop, but it's still pretty yellow sometimes. It is clear a good bit too, so it's not like it's always yellow.

Anyone know anything about this?

You still may be dehydrated. You should do a kidney cleanse if your trying to change your diet around. This will rid your kidneys of all contaminates and you'll feel much healthier.

I am with you man. I seriously drink nothing but water and my piss is not consistently white.

It's not going to be clear all the time even if you pound water.

A) 5-6 bottles of water isn't a HUGE amount by any means
B) What is your diet like? Your body uses urine to transport waste out of your body. You don't need "clear" urine to be deemed as hydrated.
C) Do you take a multi-vitamin? I do and my first piss of the day is usually BRIGHT yellow. Excess minerals and such are being passed.

I drink 1.5-2 gallons of water every day and mine isn't always clear. I never really wondered why, I'm sure it's because of exercising (causing dehydration) and eating certain foods probably has something to do with it.

Yeah it's probably because your getting other waste out besides just the urine.

Random info. Mine's usually around the 3-4 range. The 7 looks disgusting though

Not to freak you out, but cloudy urine on a consistent basis could be a symptom of the onset of diabetes.

Definitely go to a doctor none the less.

It's not cloudy, so I'm not too worried about that.

It's been decent all day thus far today.


I was just ignorant on the subject, and I had heard something in the past about how drinking water keeps you hydrated and a sign of hydration in clear urine (or more that a sign of dehydration is yellow urine).

I didn't give much thought to other things in my diet... or that I'm just not drinking enough water. I don't drink much water when I'm away from work for some reason. I have maybe a big glass or two. Every once in a while (like every other day) I'll grab one can of diet pepsi as well, so that could have something to do with it, I'm sure.

I don't drink as much water as I should...Just keep drinking more, we all should (I've learned from my tennis pro, that guy drinks a crapload of water every day, but he's outside more). Sometimes it's just a little yellow, I wouldn't worry unless it's really darker....
