Anybody have some ramen noodle recipes?

I'm going to have some for dinner tonight and I'm wondering how you guys fix yours up with some extra flavor.

Here's a quick Ramen stirfry:

- Cook the Ramen noodles as normal, strain, and let sit for a half hour
- Slice one or two chicken breasts into strips
- Dice some carrots (baby carrots work fine) and slice half an onion and a bell pepper
- Cook the chicken until white in a skillet over some oil, add the veggies, add the noodles, and toss with soy sauce and lime juice

My aunt just made this for the house the other day. It was decent. I wasn't too big on the Ramen as the noodles though.

I put hot sauce on mine and let it sit for about 30 minutes.

I ended up just throwing some left over chicken into my ramen. It was good.

egg drop soup
cook an egg inside when you boil your noodles and add soy sauce

or throw on some cholula on that ish

Hamburger is always a good and easy addition to the Chili Ramen.

I like to do mine like this:

Cook the noodles (microwave, stovetop, doesn't matter) and while it's cooking, take the flavor packet and put it in an (empty) bowl. Put 1/8th of a cup of milk plus half a tablespoon butter in the bowl with the flavoring.

Once the ramen is done, drain the water from the noodles and pour the noodles into the bowl with the flavoring, milk, and butter. Mix it up so the butter melts and the flavoring is no longer powder and enjoy!

This could be a show on the Food Network...Ramen Challenge Funny how ramen is the underground staple in most diets. I of course lived on ramen in college, and to this day love them with a passion. Great recipes. I usually scramble eggs with them.

About how long does it take before the noodles get hard? I see some of you guys saying you leave the noodles out for about 30 minutes, I would think that would make the noodles turn hard. Or do you leave it in some water?

The problem I have with trying to come up with ramen noodle meals is the texture. It seems like whenever I add something, whether it be chicken, tuna, etc., the "slippery", smooth texture of the ramen noodles makes it gross. I haven't been able to find a remedy yet.

Nope...I strain them and just let them sit in the colander (JJLinn, this will eliminate the slippery texture). I compare it to this pasta bar my wife and I go to in Minneapolis. All their noodles are already cooked but are kept in big catering pans. They just grab the noodles, add the veggies, meat, and sauce to saute before serving.

I used this recipe and went ahead and added some egg to it. Delicious! Next time I'm going to look to add some onions and peppers.

We now return to the lastest episode of the Poverty Gourmet.

I've never added anything to Ramen besides chicken strips, but I might start experimenting next time I make some.

Hard noodles make me gag. Anyway, I usually eat it totally drained with the flavor powder mixed in it with hot sauce.
