This story really made me mad. As the father of a 9 month old little boy, it's disgusting to read about something like this. I just don't understand why people do the things they do but he definitely got what he deserved in my opinion. Although I would have favored a slow painful death for the bastard.

Only the second saddest story I've seen in the past week. Those two girls that were murdered in Oklahoma is a terrible story.

Reading that made me sick, anyone who harms a child deserves death. That guy deserved the slowest most painful death instead of the quick death he received.

I have a hard time believing that the people that stopped to look actually tried their best to stop this guy from beating the child to death. THey said that 3 cars stopped and none of the people could do anything?

I'd rather he gone to prison. Most prisoners don't take kindly to people that hurt children, and he wouldn't have made it very long, but it would have been nice and painful.

i couldn't agree more..

i have a two sided feeling to this for future occurrences. firstly i wish that things like this would never happen. period. because i just can't understand people thinking this way. what could make you mad enough to kill someone? even including yourself. i mean, how can things get so bad that you really believe that that person (or yourself) deserves to die? i just can't fathom this mindset at all. the second part of my plug somewhat contradicts that though (which is why i say it's two sided) because i wish that i could be one of those people that drives up and sees that going on or sees a husband beating up bad on his wife or anything else of this matter because even though i try to never be a violet person i must say i would put all my strength and being into beating the living $&@% out of that person. some people may view that as not being any better than that person i'm beating up but that's just how i view it. i wouldn't be trying to kill that person because i want them to be in a state of incredible pain and hopefully sit their @$$ in prison thinking about it for the rest of their lives. now i've never been in prison but from what i hear prisonmates don't take kindly to child abusers/rapers AT ALL. even though alot of prisonmates can be a little twisted even THEY view these acts as inexcusable. it's just amazing to me wondering how in the world you could EVER get mad enough to actually kill a someone... anyone... but ESPECIALLY a toddler. to me that is one of the most cowardly things you can ever do in your life. beating a toddler? really? does that make them feel manly? beating someone to death that can in no way defend themselves? ........ i just can't believe it.

i don't want to get into it because it's a subject that sparks alot of debate sometimes but i have to mention it. i honestly think the best thing that our country can do as a monumental step towards fighting violence is to revisit our history... or even the current rules in a few foreign countries. implement an "I-for-an-I" mentality. none of this government slap on the wrist crap anymore with a few years in prison.. or a few years of parole or whatever. if you kill someone, you get killed. period. and there's no waiting 10-15 years for your death penalty. 5 minutes after the judge/jury says you're guilty we're taking you out back and shooting you point blank. i don't want the scum on this earth that does some of the inhumane things they do to be able to sit in a cell for countless years and think about what they did. jails aren't as bad as they should be and alot of crooks commit crimes just because the lifestyle is BETTER IN PRISON than their life on the outside. for lesser crimes go back to the mentality if you steal you loose a digit (finger/toe). bring back the locking piece (can't think of the name) where the culprit puts their head and hands in the wooden block and then they close it over the tope of them with holes for the head and hands.. then put them in the middle of the city for humiliation and so people can get a good look at them.. heck spit in their face if you want as you walk by. i'm telling you, two of the main reasons for the crime in our country nowdays is:
1) lack of strict punishment.. i won't go into this anymore.. our judicial system is basically a joke. a man who commits a murder can get off with 10 years in prison but someone orders a 6-piece nugget meal at McDonalds and only gets 5 so they're going to sue for $10 million and win? bull.
2) rap music. period. i can't stand rap music or the people who sing it for anything. i don't dislike the "fast-paced style" of rap music at all.. but the lyrics are nothing if not atrocious and crime-inspiring. all these rappers rapping about killing and hustling and baby-daddys/mamas and their tough lives and life on the streets and just essentially glorifying the thugs of the world and their gangster-crime way of life. sure there is some good rap music and i don't mind some of the better lyrical songs but the majority of the rappers are singing about all of the listed above in nearly every song.

i'll end my rant now. i could just go on and on about my feelings over this but i think i've made my feelings pretty clear and not many people will probably even read what i've posted already because of the length.

I thought that too. If I drove by and saw something like this happening, you better believe that I would have got this guy to stop or at least tried like hell. There's just no sense in something like this taking place and for people to watch and not be able to do anything about it.

I hope you're not comparing the levels of deplorable action amongst the two.

Both are extremely disturbing. It's very sad reading things like this. It may seems like times are getting worse, but it's all really due to the accessibility of information today as opposed to 30 years ago.
