Serious note...I had a friend who grew up through that program. He said it was good/bad. Had a lot of "brothers" who would use him to get chicks (is that your plan) or would provide a lot of empty promises. But he had some really good experiences and learned a lot of life lessons.

I do, however, think it's a good thing that you're doing. My only suggestion--and I know you probably couln't care less about what I have to say--is to not delve too deep into the whole "value one's self as a MAN" thing. I understand requesting a kid who grows up in a home with a single mother so that he has some kind of father-like, manly role in his life... I feel that's very understandable and good. I just hope that you don't take the "man" thing too far.


Anyway, just had to say that. Again, I think what you're doing is good and could really help a kid.

Awesome thing you're doing! Just have fun with him, be there if he needs an adult point of view, but I wouldn't push too much on him because that'd just drive him away. Think of when you were a teen, you wouldn't want some tool adult telling you that everything he knows is right...
