    OS forums with Firefox

I have no problem at work using IE to view the forums, but at home I have firefox. Loading a page will lock up my browser and when I type, there is a long lag before the letters appear in the box.

Has anyone seen and solved this? I'm sure it has something to do with my addons.

I have some weird problems with firefox as well, when I load up the main home page my browser locks up....I have to load the forums or else my browser continues trying to load the page.

Unfortunately I have no solution other than loading the forums directly.

Interesting, never had any problems at all with ff.

What add-ons or scripts are you running?

I set firefox to block scripts on OS and it is better. But now the page layout is broken and I can't click smileys. I have a TON of add ons!

I have no problems with OS using FF. I noticed the safe search add on with AVG free got became enabled yesterday and it slowed EVERYTHING down considerably. So I just disabled it again.

Other then that i'm loving the new FF.

Never have had a problem viewing OS in Firefox (though I currently am using Opera), except if I run Webroot's Window Washer program while Firefox is still open. It screws up the entire page.

This probably isn't your problem but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I've been using FF for years and OS has never been problematic.
Do you have these issues with any other website using FF?
There is a IE view extension which you can use just for viewing OS,but I think something is amiss with your combination of extensions/security programs.
Try opening FF in safe mode and navigate to OS and see how that works.
That would determine if it is extension related.

The only issue I have with OS and FF is youtube videos don't seem to load sometimes. It's just on OS, so it's kinda weird.

Yeah, everything works fine in Safe Mode. That doesn't really help me figure out what is breaking it. I think it is a combination of Adblock and Noscript.

I have Adblock Plus set to "on" for OS,but allow scripts w/No Script.
Also, all the adnet and sitemeter type stuff, since Adblock takes them out, anyway.

Are you using Adblock Plus with filterset.g Filters?

I use that and have no problems. Probably a conflict with an add on as others have said.

Could be true, but the regular expressions that filterset.g use do cause conflicts with the built-in filters in Adblock Plus in some cases. I've found out that to get around this is to use the new built-in filters without filterset.g.

I've only experienced issues with gawker sites not OS, btw.
