I have a real quick question - kind of a strange one for my first post I know - are minimum age requirements at hotels strictly enforced? I am planning on going to San Antonio with my girlfriend who's from out-of-state and saw that most hotels' minimum age requirement for check-in is 21. She and I are both 20. Would this be a problem? I've managed to stay at hotels before that are strictly 21..but I wasn't sure how strictly enforced the age requirement is as a whole...

Hotels and Minimum Age Check-In
Hey everybody,
I have a real quick question - kind of a strange one for my first post I know - are minimum age requirements at hotels strictly enforced? I am planning on going to San Antonio with my girlfriend who's from out-of-state and saw that most hotels' minimum age requirement for check-in is 21. She and I are both 20. Would this be a problem? Re: Hotels and Minimum Age Check-In
If you've got a credit card, I can't imagine it's a problem. If nothing else, have your parents call it in, and pay them back. I've probably stayed at 20-30 places overnight under 21 and never have even been asked. Maybe if it's really, really nice, but otherwise you should be fine. -
Re: Hotels and Minimum Age Check-In
If you have a credit card and are over 18 you should be fine. I am pretty sure you must be 18 (at least around here) but maybe you could find some place that would let you pay by check or cash.
They just like having credit cards though so if you steal junk or mess something up they can just yank it right out of your account.I post the frog

Re: Hotels and Minimum Age Check-In
it should work fine. I booked a hotel reservation and checked in by myself at the age of 14. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Except for I don't really remember if they had to see my dad's id or not.WUSTLComment

You should be fine, Most of the places i've stayed at in Atlanta say this and i've never had a problem staying anywhere even when I was 17.Let's Get Ready To Rumble!Comment

if they give you crap just tell them that the hotel across the street (if there is one) has already said they'd take you in. i doubt they'd let you walk out the door.Individuality: Always remember that you are unique. Just like everybody else.

Re: Hotels and Minimum Age Check-In
If you have a credit card you should be fine. The only places that I have run into that really make a fuss about 21 are the more upscale hotels. Chances are though if you are under 21 you cannot afford those hotels so you should be fine.Comment

The real question should be,
Why in the hell must you be 21 years old to get a hotel room?Comment
