What really matters is not what's going on other planets, but what's going on inside our head.

Looking at that, I'd think a speck of sand would be too big. Perhaps a tiny particle on an atom of a molecule of a speck of sand on the beach that is the universe?PS: You guys are great.

I don't know why people assume that there has to be super advanced aliens out there.
I mean, the probability is low, but most people seem to believe it's impossible that we are the most advanced race.

I can believe that too... truthfully I just have no idea, so I'm not going to say it's like this, or it's like that... I just don't know.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: How (in)significent are we?
Even if there are other species out there, who cares? They haven't shown their face on a large scale. We haven't shown our face to them. They're likely too far away for anything to really happen in our lifetime. Surely I can't be the only one who thinks that whole discussion is relatively useless?Comment

I think some people would feel better in the knowledge that there is indeed life out there. I mean it would be a pretty chilling and rather finite universe in the philosophical sense if we're the only ones out there.Even if there are other species out there, who cares? That's pretty much what happens when you fail to appreciate the creation of the universe and considering how small we are, the fact that we have something as precious as life itself.
People can consider themselves nothing all they want, but I hardly see myself as insignificant to life. That's pretty sad when you think about it.Comment

I think that would be pretty cool if we were the only things out in the entire universe. Just means we're badass.Comment

Re: How (in)significent are we?
Don't get me wrong, Dre. Its not that I don't appreciate it, it's just that the universe is SO massive that even if there were other forms of life, are we really going to interact with them in a substantive way at any point during our lifetime? That's pretty much what happens when you fail to appreciate the creation of the universe and considering how small we are, the fact that we have something as precious as life itself.
