    Identify this bug?

Found this on me just now.. It bit me, and I was surprised how painful the bite was for such a little fella. Curious if anyone has any ideas about what it is?

The photos were taken with a macro lens and it's much smaller that it appears in the picture. It was about as wide as three strands of hair, and about half the length of the pinky fingernail.

Looks like a bug I call pincher bug. Its dark/black and has the pinchers on its head. I've heard they hurt like crazy if they bite you, but I've never been bit. The only difference is that the pinchers on the head are black too. Is it kind of flat in the body and not too round?

In the northeast it's called an Earwig.

                  Thanks for the replies.

I actually think I found out what type of bug it is...

The closest match I've been able to find (thanks to the help of a few others), is a lacewing larva. Apparently they vary quite a bit in appearance, and the example I found to be closest was from Texas.

A picture of the example I found can be viewed HERE.

Again, they're tiny, but when zoomed in they appear quite beastly.
