    Knee Cracking

My right knee constantly has been cracking lately when i bend it. I have been going to therapy for a pulled muscle in my back and when they align your back, they have you lay on your back, and pull your legs and stuff. I don't know if something unhooked inside? Is it a bad thing if you knee cracks?

Could be a lot of things, how old are you? Have you had any previous knee surgery's? If it hurts get it looked at.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I'm only 21 and it doesn't hurt at all. I just never had that problem before, so its kind of weird.

My knees and ankles crack all the time. I've never really thought about it until now, maybe it's not a good thing.

My knees both pop like crazy when I bend them. It's almost like somebody's ripping a piece of paper.

My wrists sound like cement mixers... they said I had mild tendonitis a while back, but they sound terrible. My shoulder pops when I rotate it, my hip almost pops out of joint sometimes (that hurts when it pops back in), knees snap and pop... Yeah, I'm 23. Apparently I have "loose joints" so it's nothing to really worry about... but I'm more prone to dislocation and stuff like that, so I just gotta watch myself.

The wrists are from guitar and video games most likely.

                      Re: Knee Cracking

My knees and ankles crack all the time too. I've sprained my ankles probably over twenty times each in my life from playing basketball throughout my life. I sprained them the most playing college ball though. I wondered about this exact thing so I asked my college trainer about this years ago and she said it's quite common to have cracking joints as long as there isn't any pain involved. If there isn't any pain I wouldn't worry about it.

My ankles crack whenever I rotate them, but nothing is wrong and I've only sprained my ankle bad once and it wasn't even while playing sports.

For the knee, I would be a little more concerned. When your at therapy, ask them to check your IT band. It runs from the back of your hip, down the side of your leg, and then wraps around your knee cap below it. If that's tight, it can throw off a lot of stuff. As long as its not causing pain, shouldn't be any thing more than mabye some tight tendons/muscles.

I'm 31 and I think my knees have been cracking my whole life. No problems so far. I always figured it was just the joints. Someone told me a long time ago that when they do that a lot it could mean bad arthritis when you get older. Have no idea if any of that is true.
