    Wisdom teeth

To those who have gotten their wisdom teeth pulled, how long does it take for your mouth to heal? I got mine pulled yesterday and I've been on painkillers. Because of this, I can only eat soft stuff. I can drink whatever I want though.

I had all 4 removed, and it was 3-4 days before I was eating again. If even that long. It all depends on how bad they are impacted or not.

I had all 4 of mine removed yesterday. I don't know if I can go to work on either tomorrow or Thursday though since they didn't give my four days off like I had wanted. Before they got pulled there was no pain, my mouth wouldn't close properly until now.

I got them pulled one morning, chilled on the couch that day. The next day I went to the movies at night... didn't eat anything, and I was in some pain in the theatre, but nothing too bad. The day after that, I was at an amusement park and eating solid foods in the front of my mouth. I couldn't go on any upside-down rides though... I had this uncomfortable pressure back there when I did.

The girl I was dating at the time pissed me off though... hahaha... the day I got my wisdom teeth pulled, she came over my house to keep me company while I laid on the couch. She brought over some McDonalds for herself... which I didn't mind... but she ate it right in front of me saying "oh my god, this is so good!" And not like a joke to purposely get on my nerves... she was actually saying that and being serious. The bitch.

All I did yesterday after them pulling it was laying on the couch and watching TV. I should be able to be somewhat back to eating manly food tomorrow or Thursday. My mouth still bleeds though, so I have to put these cotton type balls in my mouth. Also I can't brush my teeth because that will cause my mouth to burn.

I had mine (all 4) pulled on a Friday and went to a Browns game that Sunday. I was able to gingerly eat a hot dog, but I think it was Tuesday before I was eating normally again.

It took a couple of days before I could eat any real food, but it still had to be pretty soft stuff. The pain went away after a couple days as well.

I had 2 wisdom teeth removed in 2003. The first one at the dentist's clinic and the second one at the hospital with full anesthetization. When I came home from the hospital all I wanted to do is sleep so I didn't feel much of pain. But during the next 3 days it was hell, even painkillers didn't always work for me.

I took a few Advil the first few days and had just liquids. I was able to eat solid food about 4-5 days later.

                    Re: Wisdom teeth

I had my 2 bottom wisdom teeth removed. The first one was a simple pull from the skin and I never took painkillers for that- recovered within the week.

2nd wisdom tooth they had to grind some bone out and my mouth/face took about 2 weeks to recover.. they gave me some weak *** painkillers on top of it all

My mouth still hurts, but the bleeding has finally stopped. I'm still taking all my medications. I'm on a prescription and Motrin. I probably won't eat any real good food til Friday or Saturday.

I just have soreness now that they've taken out the stitches and put in stoppers. I'm not bleeding anymore and I'm done with the crappy pain medication.

I had one taken out about 10 years ago, and the idiot forgot to prescribe antibiotics... He told me, "the swelling should go down in about 3-4 days", but by the middle of the next week, the right side of my face looked like I had a bunch of golf balls in there. By the end of the week, I was sick as a dog and had to leave work, and the dentist had to go in and drain all this old blood that had accumulated where he had taken the tooth out.

That is terrible. Who would do that to somebody? My mouth is getting better. I'm off of the antibiotics. I can eat solid food again and I've just been taking Tylenol and Aleve.
