    Storing your Valuables

Where do you guys store your important paperwork and keepsakes? I'm contemplating putting the originals of my important paperwork in a safety deposit box at my bank and keeping copies at home, but I was also thinking of getting a small safe. What are your opinions on this important matter?

If you get a safe, make sure it's bolted to something. No sense in having a safe, if someone can just come in and carry/wheel it away.

I know that might seem obvious, but I know people that had their houses broken into and lost stuff because their safe wasn't bolted down.

I keep mine in the Smuggling Compartments of the Millenium Falcon.

But seriously a safe would work, and yes, make sure it's bolted down.

I keep all my important documents in a saftey deposit box. Once I get into a more permanent residence (out of my apartment) I will get a safe and have that sucker bolted to the floor in my bedroom closet.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

My dad always says that if you buy a safe, never send the warrenty (if included) with your address written on it. Who knows who's gonna look at it...

That makes sense. I could imagine it getting lost in the mail and someone getting their hands on it that shouldn't.

            Never thought of that.

And any postal workers, I'm not taking a shot at you when I say "lost in the mail."
