Don't buy books. I only do if I need them (i.e. readings in them that are required or math questions). Anything else you can get online.

I second that. There's also a very good chance that the book is in the campus library... I've had some large textbooks that weren't allowed to be checked out, but could be photocopied for a price... Or you can save every penny you have by just reading the chapter while taking detailed notes. Use your 3-400 bucks you've saved on more important things, like video games. Comment

Re: OS college students...what's your schedule look like?

I go to college online at Axia College of University of Phoenix

Here are the classes I have currently have:

 Introduction to Sociology

Communication for the Health Care Professional

Everything is done online and I have homework almost every day of the week.

I've been attending since October of last year. Axia of UOP only allows students to take two classes at a time.

There are no breaks between terms. The only break we get is Christmas break for 2 weeks.Comment

Re: OS college students...what's your schedule look like?

Another thing people should look into:

wowio.com . Last quarter I had a book on the required reading list that was out of print, and was able to find it there. Using my OSU student info, I was given free membership, and downloaded the book for free. Another of my books is on there, so that is some more money I will save. At the very least you can view the book for free.Comment

you could save so much more at another online school. UOP is a rip-off and a horrible reputation in the work force.I go to college online at Axia College of University of Phoenix

Re: OS college students...what's your schedule look like?

Can't you say that with all Online only undergraduate programs?

And since everyone is begging for an update, I dropped Selected Topics in Russian Language and Literature and added The Presidency and the Executive Branch (48% of the class gets As). I now am free after 11:45 on every day but Tuesday, so I may continue my super fun internship.Last edited by Cebby; 08-23-2008, 04:29 PM.Comment

Re: OS college students...what's your schedule look like?

I'm not going to bother posting the actual schedule, but:

 -Medical Terminology
 -Health (CPR) Class
 -Business Ethics
 -Nursing Assistant for Surgical Technicians
 -Biology: Anatomy and Physiology

Once I'm done with those, I only have one class next semester - and then I start the Surgical Technology courses the following fall.

I have a degree in computer stuff, but I decided to go back to school and do something I actually want to do.Comment
