Eary Semester studying for me = Useless

Every damn semester since I've been in University finishing up my second year, I tell my self, this semester I'm going to study early, keep up with my **** and not fall back or procrastinate.

I went so far as to take weekends off from work so i can study. The result, yesterday was all college football and BAP NHL all day...Today, I'm supposed to study my finance class and I have a feeling I'll just be watching NFL pigskin.

I think it's time for me to concede the fact that I'm a crammer for life. Even if I do start to study now, nothing really registers. I study much better on pressure.

    Anyone else feel this way?

    Welcome to the procrastinator club

I have about 4 or 5 chapters to read that I plan on doing on my short days but get sidetracked.

I hate waiting but I'm used to it I guess. I do alot better when there's pressure too, not sure why though; the pressure really helps with English papers

Well I usually do work early but my best ideas come around a day before the due date so most stuff that was done before gets deleted for new better stuff.

Once college is over and the burden of the "real" world is on you, procrastinating makes everything worse.

Don't worry about it now, though! College students across America are screwing off right now and why not be a part of that?

I was a chronic procrastinator, but find that I was stressed out even during my fun time. Once I get everything squared away (gym, work, wife), I can do whatever I want. By 5pm every night, I'm pretty much good to go...
The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!

I'm exactly the same way. In fact, as we speak I'm on OS instead of doing my reading.

Daily homework isn't too bad (I miss my days of Spanish HW)... it's the reading that I don't want to do.

I read, surf OS, and watch the games at the same time.

Normally what I read doesn't register 100% at first, but I get bits and pieces of it. Then when I sit down and study for real, I seem to grasp it faster.

I didn't do anything in college. I have no idea how I graduate.

I became apathetic, just didn't care. I wouldn't even get worried about finals...I'd study a couple hours, try and put stuff in my calculator, and then go get a bad grade. Still have no idea how I have a degree in Finance.

I usually can't do any study until midnight then it's all go.

I really can't do anything till right before its due. If I start a paper soon after its assigned I will probably get a crappy grade on it. If I start it the day before its due more than likely I'll be freaking the whole time I'm doing it but get an excellent grade. I just can't concentrate enough if I start early I guess. I never do assigned readings (usually don't even bother buying books) and generally study the notes for a few hours before any kind of big test. I do every assignment however. I get good grades though so I don't feel bad about procrastinating.

Same way with me. I would stop procrastinating, but I still get good grades so I'll continue to do it.

My school has one of those. They never meet, and were the only group that didn't get their group picture taken in time.

Vince, I'm procrastinating for Finance class as we speak.

Every fall semester... I get owned in every single one of my classes the first 4 weeks of school. I do absolutely everything in my power to avoid schoolwork. Then, when I get my exam scores in and I got a 65 in some BS class, I get my butt in gear and start studying.

Guess some just do better in crunch time. Let the instincts and adrenaline take over. Nothing lets me know I'm ready for a test more than a headache, a high heart rate, little-to-no-rest, sore eyes, a bouncy knee before the exams are handed out, and a complete loss of social skills 3 hours before and 3 hours after an exam.

All of this to get a degree in a field I will probably never work in. The school part of college is an absolute crock, just a game and a system you have to play right in order to move on in real life.

Anyways... time to get back to studying. Good luck in finance, Vince, and kick the sh** out of those Birthday problems!

I never ever opened a book from Thrusday at 7pm at night until Sunday at 7pm at night. I learned this early on in college. Go about your business, make every minute from 7am to 7pm count Monday through Thursday and then kick back and enjoy yourself.

While my roommates were watching saved by the bell re-runs, I was getting my homework and research done. Then at night, from 7pm on I'd play hoops or whatever. Our whole dorm rarely played video games. We played a ton of basketball at the rec and tackle football in the courtyard at night.

I loved being able to kick back and relax at night while others panicked and tried to cram for stuff. Believe me, you aren't going to miss anything on Tuesday afternoon at 3pm. Instead of going home, head straight to the library and get that stuff done.
