Actually in school I am learning about how other nations are surpassing us economically and militarily.
I hate to generalize, but I will for the sake of this thread. I think that many people are ignorant and fail to realize what year it is and America's standing in the world. I went to a public school for many years, the public school took the "Adande" stance. I now attend a liberal private school and the view is drastically different. There is much less of a feeling of entitlement because we live in America and it seems I am learning much more about America's standing in the world.

Plus the fact right now I am studying Classical Greek Philosophy/Government instead of the Oklahoma History I would be studying in a public school.

I don't recall having it drilled in my head in school that the U.S. is more free than other countries, however, there is no doubt that that line of thinking is prevalent throughout the country.

As it should be. I don't give a **** about any country but America. This is MY country... this is where I live. I genuinely do not care about anyone other than my family my friends and my country... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If we would go back to isolationism we'd be better off.

I'm surprised that your previous school would have been taking the approach you mentioned. I would think that the educated people who devise the curriculum would want to promote a diverse understanding of the world. I mean, you don't want to create a personality cult or anything like that.

There is no question that America has a lot of freedom, so I understand what the guy is saying, but also, you talked about 4 other countries that have the same freedoms. How many countries are there in this world? I think that America is great country and I am glad I live here, but there are some other great countries too. What I like about America is the NFL and NHL and MLB. Also, there is a lot of things to do over here. Just like other countries have there things too.

It is called pride in your country. Just like when you were a kid your dad was better than every other kid's dad. It is just how it is. Every body thinks their country is the best.

I have to admit that I was joking a little bit when I made that post. But I do still love America and thinks the country has a lot to offer. However, a lot of other countries have a lot to offer as well. I don't think America has the right to rule over the rest of the world.
