Well some people like "the sausage" I dont, and a lot of people dont, but we shouldnt belittle the ones that do. its a difference between us, thats all, and it shouldnt be mocked.
Exactly. The issue of whether or not it's a choice has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Okay guys, I've been trying to remain out of this. But I"m gonna have to do "my job" and remind everyone to not pile TOS violations on top of this issue. This thread will remain open, but the TOS will be strictly enforced until the bigger guys can get of a hold of this issue. Brian

thanks, i have actually used a similar line while trying to teach tolerance at a school i work at. i didnt use "the sausage" example but i got the same analogy going, and some of the kids actually understood.

That is actually part of the reason I felt the need to handle the topic in its own thread. We don't think about it, but there are younger people on these forums, and they don't need to see that. And if there are young homosexuals on this board, they really don't need to see that, especially from a mod.

So I wouldn't express what luv_mist said, knowing OS's policy on such subjects. But if the subject is brought up on a forum, people should be willing to let another opinion be voiced. The Constitution allows for freedom for all races, genders & creeds. Homosexuality falls under neither catergory, like it or not.
First off, you need a lesson in constitutional law. Second, if you view sexual orientation as a choice, religion is just as much of a choice. Most people wouldn't tolerate comments like that about religion so they should not be tolerated about sexual orientation. Making fun of Clay Aiken is one thing (because he's a weird guy) but making fun of an entire class of people is another.

While I agree with you totally, let's not make this discussion about that part of it. I don't want this topic closed because it's viewed as a discussion on a TOS subject. This is about how people behave on a forum and how mods represent the forum standard, which in this case is very irresponsibly.

Dictionary I used is Merriam-Webster's. & the one you used is another illustration of the PC police spreading a lie enough so that people begin to see it as the truth. Homophobia is the fear of homosexuals. But people have continuously linked it w/the hatred of gays so much it has now become synomonous w/the feeling. People are redefining the very words in the English language in order to support their opinion.

Bigotry is the hatred of people for what they were born w/or their religion. Simple. Homosexuality does not fall under that catergory.

Okay, we're on a sheet of ice in the South Pacific here. Please find constructive ways to express the issue without TOS violations. Last warning, infractions will follow, regardless of who's "right." Maybe it's best if people step back from the keyboard and wait until the "powers that be" can deal with this. Thakns, Brian

I realize the difficult position you're in. Thanks for keeping this open.

Jonndough, if you believe that luv mist's actions weren't in line with forum policy, please post no more on the issue. Part of it is I don't want this topic closed. Also, I really don't care to waste effort convincing someone that anti-gay sentiment is bigotry. I am absolutely fine with agreeing to disagree on that point.

Educate me about the Constitution then. Because when I read it, I see nothing in which homosexuality is a protected right or put on equal standing w/a person's race, gender or religion.

And once more, where was Clay Aiken made fun of? luv_mist just said he didn't agree w/it @ worst. It sounded mostly though that he didn't understand some of the things they do. Like having sex w/a woman when you're suppossed to be attracted to men. That's an observation. An opinion. Not ridicule, hatred.

As I said, the PC police will not allow anyone to speak on the topic w/out offering complete unquestioned acceptance. they offer no proof, no sound argument. They just want you to say "it is what it is".

From what I took from his post he was saying he doesn't understand it. But I guess it could be taken different ways seeing as we're on a message board and it's very hard to read context into anything anyone says. I'll take this up with him myself.

                            Thanks guys.
