    Paypal Advice

I purchased a car door from this guy who was selling parts off his car. I have a damaged door from someone trying to break into it. I used paypal to send money and I also used my credit card through paypal.

When i receive the door, it was a complete mess, it was poorly packaged. He basically put a card board around the door and that was it, not bubble wrap or anything to protect the 50 pound door.

It looked like it was dropped and dented the door extremely bad because of the poor packaging which now makes this door junk.

Can I make a complaint to paypal to get my money back? The door is useless and is scrap now because the dents creased and paint has already flaked off the door so instead of sanding down the paint I have to now strip it and I would have to bondo the dents which is a stretch to do.

I was told also I can call my credit card company and do a charge back but I'm not sure how this would work with a private sale. Any advice?

    Re: Paypal Advice

Anything paid through Paypal can be disputed but sometimes Paypal can be a pain in the *** to deal with as if the seller has any type of tracking or delivery confirmation then sometimes thats good enough for Paypal and they wont even bother with it. Get a claim setup with Paypal asap and call your CC issuer and see what you need to do to start the process of reversing that sale, take pictures of the door and scan them into your computer and offer them to Paypal in case they want to see evidence. In the end if you raise enough hell then you should get your money back from Paypal but dont just accept the first answer and move on, raise hell if it doesnt work for you, otherwise they will steamroll you and take advantage.

i take it that the sale was not through ebay? if it was, then there's another venue to fight against.
