Affluent investors are smart enough to know that the solutions and causes to these problems are much larger then any political agendas.

This is a worldwide crisis and hopefully when the smoke clears years from now we will have a much stronger and smarter financial system.

The one plus of all this mess I believe will be the return of the American family, as family will be forced economically to spend time together!

Ok let's say I got a thousand bucks today and wanted to get the biggest bang for my buck what would you guys do? Mind you I'm not talking about investing in CocaCola or anything like that. Short of buying a bunch of crack and selling it how could I flip a thousand. lol

Gold. But it won't make you money fast. If you are looking to double it over night, your best best is to go to the local casino and put it all on 1 hand of black jack. Your odds are slightly better than 50/50.

              FAS or even DXO...

if you don't believe me, read my last post in this thread with the DXD SKF advice. Those guys go up when the market goes down. But make sure you can live without that grand!

This economy has royally boned me.

Just was laid off friday as a staff Video Engineer, now I have to try my leg at freelancing, in what is one of the worst times to be a freelancer.

Only good thing is Im still working a bunch of gigs for the company just not gonna be on the payroll. So ill be making like triple on all of those minus my persoanl insurance stuff now.

And I just bought a 350,000 condo last year! Oh joy!

The more it goes down the more shares I get from every paycheck in my 401k. Doesn't really bother me at all. I'm young enough that it will all go back up eventually.

                      Dollar cost averaging at work!

Even though I know this, it still bites to see the market tanking.

Problem is, you are witnessing a downward spiral. Hopefully, you are able to keep your job long enough to see the markets swing up again. They'll be down for at least another 3 years.

I was able to put 20% down and had a good job and can afford my payments, so no, that is not how we got in this mess in the first place.

My industry is getting decimated by the economy, how am I supposed to for see that?

Alot of this now is is continuing because of people's panic reactions and decisions to hold on to money because of it.

Although Im not worried im wondering when folks will see that laying people off and not creating jobs is not helping solve the problem.

You can't create jobs without money......Its nearly impossible right now to secure the needed capital to maintain normal operations while going through this downturn and sluggish sales. Its a mess thats going to get worse for a few more years.

Our fearless leader could help a little bit by not putting a negative tone on everything. Even rumors of an end to the recession could get things picking up again.
