Now we all know how one little thing can trigger a world conflict (WWI) but I heard something today and it brought back the idea of the cold war/WWIII.
If you didn't know Iceland is going bankrupt. Russia was one of the countries that Iceland is in talks with for a loan. Now hypothetically, because of the government backing these banks and allowing Iceland to make all these loans that now have backfired completely, could a change in government be possible? Of course. The thing that would be interesting is if that Russia could somehow gain some influence over Iceland because of the loan that would bailout Iceland. An alliance with Iceland and Russia would eliminate the SDI and tensions could build back up because we all know that Hitler showed that the Atlantic Ocean is fairly easy to travel across, and like I said SDI would be pretty much worthless because Russia could strike from Iceland. I could see this as a possibility if Russia bails out Iceland.
