I use to play 50-70 times a year, including tournys.

I played against a couple pro teams, I guess you could of considered us semi-pro.

My gun was a SmartParts - Shocker. One of the first electric's at the time. Paid 1,600 when it first released. Then came the Angel. At 15 balls a sec it was pretty dominate at the time PLUS with a low PSI it was very accurate.

I can't for the life of me remember what kind of Nitrogen tank I used.

I know I had a spectra Mask, with the chrome lens.

I also carried around a refill nitrogen tank. The big ones divers use.

BUT paintball is a expensive hobby. I would blow $200 a weekend on balls. I mean you would throw around 1000 to 2000 balls a weekend. We have a pretty nice field here. Multiple areas to compete in.

1) standard Wooded area with bunkers and flag points.
2) Speed ball course, this is where I spent a good 80% of my time. Angles are sooo key. A little tip is to always peek out the side of the bunker opposite side your hopper feeds on (unless you have a straight down feed). This prevents them seeing your hopper first before you see the incoming rounds.
3) The Bus - It is a bus surrounded by high grass. One team is on the bus with all the windows down. The other team attacks the bus. Very swat team type stuff. Keep the bus enemy down with fire until you can get a group up near the engine block to creep around to doors and bunker the enemy.

Ohh and if you want a real blast, look for all-night scenario games. Basiclly it is massive size teams battleing all night and all day with objectives. With large scale objects such as helicopters, tanks, humvees, ect ect.

I played a scenario game where they had a real tank monted with a paintball gun on top. Then our team had a patato type launcher. It was a PVC tube with a 20oz tank mounted to the back and dumped in the tube. On the end the projectile was a large wrap of paintballs. This HAD to be used to take the tank out.

But the cool thing was at night the helicopters came over and dropped para flares. Soo in the woods it was crazy all the moving shadows from the wayy flares fall and twist and such.

Look into it though. Much better than your standard game.

OMG! I want to do that so bad. I should have the money for some equipment in the next month or so, then I can really dig deep into the sport.

I spent around $3,000 to $4,000 on equipment. But I also won guns, masks, refill equipment, paintballs, ect ect in tournys so I recouped alot of my money. But the big killer is paint.

Also invest in a good pack that holds up to 1000 balls on ya back with a quick velcro release. Greatly helps when you dump a hopper and you got to get balls back on the enemy quick. A quick release system with a tube system so your tank is mounted on your back pack helps greatly to so less weight on your wrist. Also a double trigger is a must.

uhhhh lets see what else................A good sqiggie(spelling) is a must to for when you chop a ball.

A good intro gun with alot of options is a AUTOCOCKER.

They've only been used twice. Tank is empty. Mask should be alright - I'll try and see if I can find it online to show you.

This is pretty much my gun. I had a nitrogen tank on it though

I would highly suggest though a AUTOCOCKER. Good solid gun with ALOT of options for upgrade

I know what you mean with it being expensive. We were playing Woodsball, which I know Speedball you use more paint. Still it costed me $30 for paint and to fill the tank.

Here is a 4-1 harness I was talking about. I suggest a tad bit bigger one though. Only holding 400 extra is a tad on the short side.

Nitrogen is cleaner and a good bit lighter. You get more solid PSI and more consistent FPS. Co2 is a liqud so you get problems with freezing and temp issues. Nitrogen is a gas so you are rock solid all the time
