I have to take the 405 to and from. It's not that bad actually.

      Re: I'm moving to LA

I made the move about two years ago (I'm 23 now) though my goal was to get "into" the music industry. I was fortunate enough to have already had pretty good contacts, but making the new contacts is what helped me immensely.

So first off, it was quite the change for me (coming from Montreal) but by now I'm used to big changes. I was born in Sicily, moved to Brooklyn, then to Montreal where I spent a good portion of my life, then back to New York City and two years ago I said what the hell and made my way to Los Angeles. I moved in with my cousin, Mike Cammalleri (some of you may know him from the L.A Kings) and now I live alone in the condo.

Social life is pretty sweet. I'm not much of a party animal but there are many cool spots where you could just chill out, including the beach. In my opinion the people here are pretty cool, but remember I got accustomed to dealing with many annoying French Canadians back in Montreal, so things can only be better over here!

The comment about Christmas is so true though. I just can't have a Christmas with no snow and that's why I always head up North to see family. That may just be me though!

Anyways, hope everything turns out well. Yeah it's tough to make the switch/risk but we live one life, and if we don't take those risks we'll never be sure if we fulfilled that life.

Very true Flyboy. I lived in SD for 4 years. It is a beautiful place. But there was one thing that ruined it for me. The sports fans. There are a lot of band wagon fans down there. I'm not talking about the die hard Charger and Padre fans. I'm talking about the guy who decides to buy a jersey and a hat and go to Seau's restaurant to watch a game because they are in first place.

Eh, there are bandwagon fans everywhere though. The ocean and downtown San Diego? Amazing fun.

Im a Laker fan but I gotta agree that lots of people bandwagoned the Lakers during the playoffs... And you could tell too, because when the Celtics whipped the Lakers asses in the Finals, then all of the flags suddenly disappeared...Well other people might of still saw them but I didnt. LOL

Thinking about visiting LA for like a week in the winter. Any Los Angelinos know any good spots out there or places you would recommend to an OoT?

Sorry for hijacking the OP's thread.

My thoughts exactly. Good to know you've settled in well. I hear flights from NY to LA and vice versa aren't too expensive. If that's the case then I'll be flying back for the holidays. But, I'll probably only see my brother and sister. I don't care much for my aunts and uncles and my parents are pretty much already half way back to the Dominican Republic to spend the rest of their lives.

Would defeat the purpose of seeing a White Christmas if I was in DR. Now, I would definitely do Christmas in NY and New Years in DR. That would be cool.

Oh, man, this I already know, but right now, it's LA. If things go extremely well, I'll buy a place in San Diego.
