So you've been arrested for whatever (murder, theft, assault... whatever), and you're given your one phone call. Of course, your crime could relate to who you call (as well as whether you're really guilty or not guilty), but given a rather general circumstance with what should constitute a long-term sentence in prison, who is it you would call, and why?
Like most people, I would probably call my mother. No matter what deep **** I'm ever in or how much she may hate me for it, I would never waste that call on anybody else when I have one final chance to remind her that I love her, and whatever action I potentially did was not her wrongdoing.
What about you guys? I suppose given the situation, it could be your children if you no longer have an emotional/vital attachment with your mother, it could be your best friend, it could be the family that you have somehow harmed, or it could be a prank call (but I'd like for this thread to be as serious as possible). I don't really know how this system works in terms of how long you have to talk with the person and what happens if they don't pick up, etc... but it was always an interesting thought of mine to see how other people would utilize that right you're given. Now, I say "right," as in you don't even need to use this call... so assuming that you would, who would you call, why, and what you tell them?
