    Re: Who plays Ice Hockey?

Played hockey pretty much my whole life until I finished with college last year. I'd definitely suggest shin pads and elbow pads as well, I'd always wear those even in random pick up games with friends. No matter how friendly and laid back it is there's always a chance of getting a stick or puck right in the shins and it kills and if you fall it's not nice to be worried about breaking your arm if you land on your elbow to break the fall.

Since your in Mass. depending on where you are try going to a Play It Again Sports and pick up a pair used skates for real cheap if your not sure how serious you want to get about it. Haven't gone skate shopping in a while but I always bought pretty much everything Bauer though I always heard very good things about Graf skates. Don't buy your first pair of skates online, usually you want about a full size smaller than your shoe size for skates but it's different for everyone so definitely try on before you buy. New skates take a couple hours to break in so your feet could get pretty sore the first couple games you try them(another benefit of used skates since they don't need to be broken in)

That's about the best advice I can give, also keep you stick on the ice!! I can probably help you out if you have any other questions.
