It was only the 11th hottest July for KC. Kind of surprising, but I think the cooler weather we had to start the month brought the average down.

I'm so tired of this weather. I love summer, but would prefer it to be in the 90-95 range.

The average high for this month so far is 107.7. We're at 37 straight days hitting at least 100 degrees. The highs for the next 6 days? 107, 109, 108, 105, 105, and 105.

Gainesville FL here...hot and VERY humid, think 100% before 8 A.M....since I'm 2 hours from the coast we don't get any ocean breeze here and the college football team sucks lol
I was stationed in Hawaii for about 18 months...OMG that place is amazing...avg of about 72 everyday, slight ocean breeze, low humidity...did I mention that from late Nov till I think middle of Jan Oahu (the island with Honolulu and Waikiki) is the premiere spot in the world for competition surfing? 40 ft + waves anyone? =-) I highly recommend everyone going to Hawaii at least once in their lives.

It's currently 68 and raining. Much better than the 108 we had last week.

So a tornado touched down in my town (Wilmington, DE) yesterday. We don't really get tornados here, or at least not bad ones (after a little Google search I saw we had a touch down a few times the last few years). Pretty crazy stuff, literally right down the street from me it touched down.

That neighborhood is without power as the lines are all mangled and whatnot. One or two houses are pretty messed up. Luckily, I still have power (my fiancee's parents, also down the road, do not).

IT was just weird knowing there was a tornado here. Especially after this summer with all the craziness in the South, it's just scary knowing it can happen almost anywhere.

                  Crazy.

Don't know if there were any injuries/deaths, just damage. My fiancee's mom said a friend of her's had their basketball pole bent and ripped out of the ground. Wowzers.

Don't recognize that place from the picture, but I know it touched down a few times. Once along 141, once in the neighborhood down the street, don't know if it hit the city at all.

I didn't hear any emergency sirens, though someone said in the city they were going off. Some of that lightning made me jump.

Rainned all day, never made it higher then 62. Whole southern half of the state is under a flood warning.

Lucky, I would kill for some rain right about now.

Today we officially tied for the 3rd hottest summer in DFW with our 52nd day reaching at least 100 degrees. We're pretty much guaranteed to have this be the 2nd hottest (2nd was like 56 days, and the high for the next 7 days is over 100). Only time will tell if we beat the crazy 69 days of over 100 degrees from 1980.

The one last night was the worst I've ever been through. Huge lightning strikes for like an hour and a half. I get jumpy, not gonna lie, even when I expect it. Couldn't sleep from 1 AM to 2:30 AM. Every minute there was a new, louder bang. I swear I heard the trash cans outside jumping.
