Re: Just got home from Chicago and....
I've lived in downtown Chicago(2 blocks North of Gibsons/Rush St.) for 11 years now and I feel very fortunate. To this day when I drive south on Lakeshore Drive from the Northside and see the Drake and the Hancock building it never gets old. The civic pride definitely kicks in...and the summer, nothing can describe summer in this city, so just show up.
With all that being said, New York is on another level. Bigger, more people, more things to do, etc. NY is the center of the universe IMO.
I love Chicago, wouldn't want to live in NY (almost moved there 3 years ago), but man I prefer the in your face straight talking East Coast types as opposed to the poker faced Midwesterners.Comment

I was in SF last weekend and I ****ing loved it. And the gay culture (I assume it's ok to talk about since it was blatantly obvious what you guys were talking about) isn't nearly as prevalent or in your face (no pun intended) as people make it out to be.
It's really an amazing city.Blind to this impending fate

Pretty ridiculous, imo.

So much to do. World class restaurants, wine country, Sausalito, Tiburon, and even skiing is only a short drive away. Being a golfer, I love the fact that the Monterrey peninsula is also a short drive away.
If you've never been to SF and your only thoughts of it are the Haight, protests, and gay people, get that out of your mind and go, because like Acid stated it's nowhere near as prevalent as you would think.Comment

SF is by far my favorite city in the US to visit. Urban lifestyle, the Bay, the Bridges, and the mountains make the SF skyline the most unique beautiful skyline there is. I was fortunate enough to be in SF a few backs for work. Great city

I can't wait to go back, I didn't get a lot of time for sightseeing actually.Blind to this impending fate

It's really an amazing city.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Just got home from Chicago and....
I saw plenty of gay people walking the streets, but it's not like they flaunted their sexual orientation in your face. I'm not exactly sure what Matrix and Fishepa (I'm sure there's more but they just haven't said anything) are skeptical of, it seems absolutely ludicrous to decide not to live in SF just because of the gay community.Blind to this impending fate
