    Knife and fork

I'm a right handed guy but I always hold the fork with my right hand and the knife with my left hand. I heard many times that I'm supposed to do the opposite but I just can't get used to it. It sarted when I was about 7-8 and copied everything my brother did. Since then it's useless to try to change it. Does it really matters? People really look at which hand you hold what?

Yeah, I know, another silly thread, but I'd like to know your opinion.

    Re: Knife and fork

I switch the fork to my left hand when I need to cut something, but otherwise I hold the fork in my right hand.

I'm just hopeless with me left hand. If I try holding the fork with my left hand I might stick it in my eye or something. Same with basketball, I can't layup with my left hand.

Ditto. I don't think I have ever tried cutting with my left hand. Just seems natural to switch hands to cut something.

I'm left handed and my right hand is useless. Completly useless. Only thing it can do right is type and click a mouse

I can't even click a mouse...I mean I can but it's a lot slower than with my right hand. I guess I could never play the piano.

                  According to "proper etiquette" ...
You're supposed to cut the food with the fork in your left hand and the knife in your right......put the knife down across the plate(once your utensil has touched food, it's never supposed touch the tablecloth again...only the china.....then you switch the fork to your right hand and continue eating.

That being said...I cut with the fork with my left hand and begin the devouring process....the poor food never had a chance.

I don't know if I follow etiquette to a "T", but I do pretty much what they say, just not as elegantly

Yeah even when I'm not holding or touching anything I can feel that my left hand is stronger than my right.

Some of these questions are just to funny. Like really, who goes up to someone "Hey do you switch hands when cutting with a knife" Then they blankly stare at you "What?"

When you go take a whiz do you use your left hand or right?

That is the type of question this is lol, not being rude. Just find it a weird question

Well, believe it or not, when I was a kid I was told more than once "You're holding the fork & knife wrong, it should be the opposite. I guess it's something that stayed with me since childhood, though I was never able to change it.
