Re: Getting fired from your job for saying 'Merry Christmas'
I don't celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any of the traditional holidays that we have here due to spiritual beliefs. However, I wouldn't fire an employee for something like this. Craziness.Comment

Re: Getting fired from your job for saying 'Merry Christmas'
If I owned a business, I wouldn't want my employees to say Merry Christmas either. And I celebrate Christmas. I just definitely can see the reasoning behind not wanting to alienate a significant portion of your customers. I don't mean to say non-Christians take offense at "Merry Christmas". What I mean is that "Happy Holidays" applies to almost everyone, including Christians. Whereas Merry Christmas does not.
With that said, if I was the boss and told her she couldn't say that, and she did, I'd fire her *** tooRedskins Fan. The 82 Smurfs will never die. 83/88/92 NFL world champions!!

Re: Getting fired from your job for saying 'Merry Christmas'
Because you are clueless..PPL buy Christmas gifts for Christmas yet you don't want your employees telling customers merry Christmas. CHRISTMAS is why people shop . If Christmas is so offensive retailers need to stop making a profit on that holiday, which means, holy day, If you fired me for telling customers Merry Christmas, Id find legal counsel, picket your store with a, I was fired for wishing customers a Merry Christmas, tell my local newspapers, etc..Do you really want that pub, for the 1% that MIGHT be offended.Comment

And no, I wouldn't want that publicity for the exact reason that people just like you would overreact just like thatComment

Re: Getting fired from your job for saying 'Merry Christmas'
The thing that kills me is that you certainly don't hear people saying "Happy Holidays" in other months (like February) where there are two holidays close to each other. lol

It'll always be Christmas to me. I don't agree with a lot of the hard line conservative Christians but on this issue I side with them fully.

Who gives a rat's ***? It's F'ing Christmas! Our country is becoming a bunch of over-cautious panzies. I agree with SPTO.
Sure, I say Happy Holidays out of respect to others, but businesses everywhere profit from Christmas and somehow find a way to turn their cheek when it comes time to acknowledge what pays their bills. Ridiculous."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Re: Getting fired from your job for saying 'Merry Christmas'
The polically correct term is happy holidays, you have Xmas, hanaka, kwanza and all of those people gives gifts...Xmas is just the default like the other "defaults" we have...to not get an infraction I'll use the example of Santa being white as an default...Comment
