What you're saying is I should have zero rights as they are fearful for their lives. Yet, in this day and age, I am afraid for mine when I run into the cops. Yet, I must treat them with the utmost respect, while they continuously threaten me and shout.

Wow dude. You obviously don't know anything about the day to day life of a cop.

EVERY situation they are in is potentially life threatening. They have to treat it as such. Do you even read the articles in the paper about a cop being killed??? 99.99999% of the time it NOT in a guns a blazin shootout that you see on TV all the time. Its a situation that SHOULD have been normal. A traffic stop, serving a warrant, car accident because of someone's stupidity.

How were the cops to know when they busted into your place, that you and your dudes were getting baked, eating cheetos, and playing Halo 3?? You could have been cutting coke, with knives and glocks sitting on the coffee table.

Maybe you should put your one track conspiratorial, everyone is out to get Double Eights, and everyone like me thoughts away for 10 freaking seconds and think about what happens in the real world. "Not me good, cops are evil" land.

Maybe you should watch the DVD.

This guy was one of the best narcotics officers in Texas, and he admits the majority of cops he knows are crooked. He himself was as "crooked as scoliosis," but at least he finally understood how horrible his actions were.

Do you honestly think I just woke up one day and said "ah, screw the police?" No, I've seen enough news stories, had my own experiences, know of experiences from friends, watched DVD's such as the one I mentioned, and so on and so forth. My brother was a cop, and I know his personality. He's just like the cops I think of when I think of police officers...in it for the thrills. It's the same reason he joined the Military. Now is he a bad human being, absolutely not. Yet, if he wasn't my brother, would I feel animosity towards him...probably so. And this is my brother I am talking about, so don't act as if I am biased against cops simply because I had a bad experience.

Yes, I'd be in my dorm room with glocks and knives, and coke. How many college students do you know that live like that? In a dorm no less. Jesus christ, if they are going to act like it's "us vs. them," of course there will be animosity on both sides.

I really wish you guys would find something to talk about other than cops and pot. I think we would prefer to not have this thread closed. Talk about it on your blog or something. It really kills me when I see mods talking about it. Isn't it against the TOS to talk about drugs?

So it's okay to go one and on about JJ and his drinking habits, but it's not okay to have a debate about cops and weed?

I understand if you don't like the debate, but come on, we're going to allow underage drinkers to post their rants and tirades, why am I not allowed to post mine?

Because you disagree with my opinion?

Edit: I'm not against moving it to a blog if someone wants to make it.

Report me then. I used drugs as a reference to make my point. I was not talking about using them or selling them.

I don't want to get the thread closed either. It's a great thread, good concept.

But, since it is off-topic, I figured it was okay to talk about. The thread has no general purpose other than off-topic posts, and my posts are that...off-topic about cops and marijuana.

If the mods/admins don't want it, let me know, and I'll stop. Hell, if the vast majority don't want it, I'll stop.

I am really nervous about going to Akron next semester. I only have one really close friend anymore. I had a ton of friends in High School, now i'm down to one freaking friend.

Kind of depressing, but whatever, I guess I'll deal. Maybe I can actually settle on a woman in Akron.

I've been in 3 different colleges in since 06. One was because of money, the other was because it was affordable, now I'm going to one in between. I'm sure I'll find plenty of friends there. At least someone to party with.
