I've actually noticed that most drive thru places these days don't even use their first window anymore. I don't know if it's to prevent this or they don't have enough work or what, but ever since seeing this video (I saw it like over the summer), I haven't gone to a drive thru that was operating both windows.

Of course, I normally don't order through the drive thru anyway.

I can't speak for anywhere else, but around here all the places with two windows are only open when there's a really long line, otherwise they stick with one.

At the McDonalds in town you actually get free meals if you go through the drive thru around midnight-ish with the intent of paying with a credit/debit card. They do something with their registers at that time where they don't accept plastic, and by the time they realize that's how you're paying, it's too late and they already have your food ready so they just give it to you. I've never went their with the intent of getting free food as it's usually a 50/50 chance of them taking plastic(I pay for everything with my debit card, I never carry cash), and I always try to not take the food, but they insist they'll just throw it out anyways. Kinda weird.

I disagree. I thought the McDouble tasted almost exactly the same. If there was a difference, it was certainly not enough to make me want to buy the DCB.

yeah, taco bell did that for me. It was really late and I went there with a credit card. The woman working just used a manager card and paid for the meal for me.
