    Anybody Know About Rosetta Stone?

    Is it worth it?

    Does it really work?

    Have you used it?

    Know somebody that's used it?

I was thinking about getting it, but didn't know if it's just all hype and that I'd just be wasting my money. So I was just trying to get some opinions about it.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Anybody Know About Rosetta Stone?

I've used it but I haven't used it extensively enough to know if it works or not. It basically shows you images and you have to match the words to it. It's kind of rapid fire so you learn by word recognition and repetition. I tried the Italian one and thought it could probably work if I applied myself. I'd hate to recommend shelling out the money with my limited experience with it so if you have a chance to try it before you buy it I definitely would to see if it was for you.

Thanks for the input. So you havent gotten far enough into it to learn sentence structure and things like that.

Re: Anybody Know About Rosetta Stone?

I have been using it for a month. In my opinion it has been well worth it. I bought the online version for 6months it is like $230.

I didn't have any background in French and so far I have learned quite a bit. There are 3 levels and inside each level is 4 units. I do about an half hour to an hour a day and I am only on Unit 3 of the first level. I am just begining to understand sentence structure and masculine/feminine word structures.

I need to learn a foriegn language to graduate from college (I have prolonged this for four years because of my inability to learn another language to the 202 college level).

I bought the audio companions and I will listen to them when I go to the gym and run. It helps.

Anyway I recommend it if you are serious about learning a little bit each day. I have to take my test to test out of some classes in April. I have about two months then I will tell you for sure how effective it is!! But in all honesty I have really enjoyed it and when I am doing it I don't feel like I am forcing myself to do anything. It is actually fun to do the exercises.
