I loved dogs until we got the dog from hell...he loves my mom, but hates me, my brother, and my dad. He viciously growls at us every time we walk in the door or come near him at certain times. He's just overly protective I guess. I still like dogs in general, but don't plan on getting one when I grow up anymore.

Speaking of dogs...

Today I got my hands on some dog fighting files...and boy were the pictures sad. I used to think it wasn't something that terrible, but then I saw the pics.

These people fed them creatine and all sorts of crazy stuff to make them bigger and stronger.

That dog is...wow. Yeah, I've always loved dogs. I've had a good number throughout the years, most of them refurbished strays.

Reminds me of a crazy story. I used to want to be one of those wild life experts when I was little. Sometimes we (my little brother, a cousin and I) would tame strays to give to people. One of my mom's friends had a problem with a stray getting into her garbage at night and asked me if I could take care of it or her husband was gonna poison it. I took some old bologna and went up to her house. I put the bologna at the base of the tree and climbed a few branches up and waited. Sure enough, the stray came not too long after. He smelled me, but the smell of the bologna overpowered his instincts and he never found out my position.

Once he got to the bottom of the tree, I jumped out of the tree and grabbed his hind legs just as he made it under the house. He wasn't much more than a puppy, still had a baby tooth, but he was a good sized dog, think he was a Black and Tan coon hound mix. He didn't snap at me but he pissed and shat all over the place. I took him home and put him my aunt's old wrecked Chevy Oldsmobile with my dog. After a week or so, he was sociable and I gave him to a friend of mine who named him Spike. He was always wary of strange people though. Besides my friend, only me and my brother could get near him. He would recognize our voices when we called him, but he would always smell our hands first just to make sure. He turned out to be a great dog too.

You need to watch that dog training show on Animal Planet with that British chick, they had an episode with a dog exactly like that, it was literally a "man *****".

It isn't a matter of "just being overly protective", it's a legitimate problem that can (and should imho) be taken care of with the appropriate training.
