Oh, and the gateway drug stuff is Bull. I've smoked almost daily (minus a few weeks here or there) for the past year and a half. I've been offered mushrooms, acid, X and Coke and, shockingly, I said no to each and every one. People moving on to harder drugs from weed has nothing to do with weed, it has to do with the person.

Even if they don't win what makes you think that they won't try?

Because I give them credit for being intelligent business men. If they don't peddle weed they'll just up their efforts with Crack, Heroin, or Cocaine. If they do that, well I don't really care since I would never use Crack, Heroin, or Cocaine.

Someone could go into work depressed and end up getting someone killed by accident.

Someone could go into work tired and end up getting someone killed.

Someone could go into work on over-the-counter medicine, or prescription drugs, and get someone else killed.

And on and on and on.

I would take my chances with someone who is tired or depressed anyday than I would someone who is high on weed. Over the counter medicine is something we need though. Legalizing weed is not something we need.

Look, in my teens and early 20s I used to smoke the hell out of some weed (I dont smoke anymore though) so I am very familiar with the effects. I know weed can cause you to be depressed, tired, and have sorta like a medicine head all wrapped up into one.

I couldn't care less if Phelps take bong rips everyday. He's a grown man who can make his own choices. IMO in the long run this won't hurt his endorsment money too much at all.

There is a difference between people moving on to harder drugs from weed and moving on to harder drugs because of weed.

I'll never argue that most people start off with weed as their first drug. But it is BS to try and say that they moved on to those harder drugs because of weed. Weeds probably the cheapest, and easiest, drug to come by so it is only natural that people start off with that. But they don't go: "I smoke weed...that means I should try other drugs too!" All of those people that moved on to harder drugs that you are talking about moved on because THEY wanted a larger high, because THEY wanted to try something new, because THEY couldn't keep themselves from moving on. Not because the weed made them do it.

The last figures from 2001 have 22.4% of people smoking marijuana, while 25.7 using any drug. That leaves roughly 3.3% of people using drugs outside of marijuana.

So according to the United States government, 6.7% of marijuana users use other drugs.

Well it really comes down to the Parents. Did they do a good job of telling them the dangers of those drugs? Alot of parents tell put Weed on the Same level as Crack or heroin so when they smoke weed and realize it is harmless, what are they going to think about Crack?

Thank god my parents were truthful with me about pot.

I never used harder drugs than weed personally, but I can say that 90% of my pot buddies back in the day did use harder drugs.
