While I personally think all the money spent trying to keep weed illegal is dumb, I will say that I have seen people ruin their lives because of weed...You don't see that with cigarettes (aside from long term health issues)...

Obviously that doesn't happen to everyone, and it's not only weed causing the problems, but the weed definitely contributed in a major way. You can smoke cigs all day long and still be fine to work. You can't work while high (at least you shouldn't)...that's the big difference in my mind between cigs and weed.

Honestly, I choose to smoke weed rather than drink because of my family history of alcoholism. I can stop when I need to and don't smoke before I need to be in court. As a soon to be father, I'd rather my son smoke weed than drink alcohol.

I would rather smoke than drink, as well.

I feel like I'm more in control, I can still think and function and I don't run the risk of feeling like **** later that night or the following morning.

ive never smoked before(22) not becuz I thought weed(actually think cigs are worst plus pointless) was bad or anything like that all my friends do it, it was becuz I was always involved with sports and always thought it would hurt my fatigue....Now i dont know why I dont smoke weed beside the fact that my job test randomly, however Ive done syrup a number of times(there goes that "gateway" theory)

Anyway I think weed should be legal especially if alcohol is

1. Never heard of child abuse becuz of weed unlike alcohol
2. Never heard of a person's death becuz of weed unlike alcohol(ive had a high school friend who hung himself, he was a heavy drinker)
3. Never heard of a car accident becuz of weed unlike alcohol
4. Never heard of a person dying becuz of too much weed unlike alcohol
5. Never heard of a gurl getting taken advantage of becuz of her high unlike being drunk(gurls I know get high then wanna....you know!)

I can easily go up to #20 but maybe ive never heard of weed doing those kind of damages becuz of where I live at...

What's the difference between weed and alcohol (other than one is legal and the other isn't)? Honest question, too. I'd like to see what you think.

Like the feds really care....I'll take Massachusetts' laws over the feds any days. Most people don't realize the US Constitution is based off the Massachusetts Constitution. We're a trend setting state with laws in numerous areas, hopefully the treatment of marijuana will be just another.

I know, I'm just saying that by law it's illegal at the federal level. But they don't ever come after the users.

Anyways, I've tried my share of drugs and alcohol, and I must say, from my experience, alcohol is a million times worse than weed. I mean, just yesterday I had to carry a guy on my back since he drank quite a bit; I thought he would die on the spot. But then again, that's my experience.

Anyways, like, who cares? I guess I'm the only one who doesn't care about the Olympics or its athletes months after it finished.

Alchohol has different effects depending on how much you consume. Alchohol could be just a beverage and you don't get drunk at all. With weed you get high regardless of how much you consume

I still stand by what I say, I've seen it ruin lives first hand. Dude from my high school was the valedictorian of our class, but got so caught up in weed our senior year that he stopped giving a **** about school, and not only didn't finish valedictorian, but got kicked out of school before graduation because he got caught with weed.

Then you have my friends who drink regularly and ended up top 10 in the class and go to one of the best public schools in the country (Penn State).

Like I said, I personally think it's a waste of money and resources trying to keep it illegal...It's similar to alcohol (you shouldn't drive while high either, I don't care if people say 'it makes me drive better')...

I was just posting because I saw a lot of "weed's better than cigs", and I've personally seen multiple people end up dropping out of college because they let weed get a hold of them. Same can be true with alcohol, but it seemed like some people were making weed seem harmless.
