I didn't even finish the one Redd's that I tried. Two enthusiastic thumbs down from me.

Disgusting. I don't really like cider beers, but Redd's was the worst one I had. I can suck down a Shock Top or Angry Orchard, but I'm not letting Redd's touch my lips again.

Me neither, but when I was going Gluten Free in the months leading up to my wedding. StrongBow (draft) and Crispen ciders were two of the best I've ever head. Fox Barrel I would rate right behind them.Moderator

Thinking about making my own beer as I already make my own wine. I have the basic recipes of what I want to do but wondered if anyone had any tips for someone with no experience or real equipment?Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread

I've had a few barley wines before, the one that most stands out in my memory is from Greenflash Brewery:

Definitely an intense style, complex flavors (both malt and hops). Not traditionally paired with any foods, to be enjoyed by itself. I found myself only able to drink about 6 ounces before getting worn out, lol. I'll have it if the right mood strikes, but that is rarely."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

I can give you quite a few good chocolate brews. Terrapin Moo-Hoo, Samuel Smith chocolate stout and whatever the chocolate stout that Southern Tier brews is (I can't remember the name). All of them are phenomenal.Comment
