That's pretty cool. Sucks they don't give you cash on your first go around.

With mine, I think when I hit my 50th beer, I get a free pint. 100th beer, I get a free large beer and 150th I'll get a hat (hopefully I'll just see if I can get a free pint).

Reaching 200 should be fun. I'm going to try and do it for my 24th birthday in July, that way I can go up there and spend $100 on beer and food.

Glad yall diggin' my thread here. i recently had the Anchor Porter, & i thoroughly enjoyed all 12 my review as follows:

Pours a Beautiful rich ruby black hue – almost opaque w/ a 2 finger head, that leaves a nice lacing on the glass...ya gotta drink from a GLASS people. Aroma – heavy roasted chocolate malts, caramel invitation. Taste – smooth as silk – nice head - it is thick and creamy, amazing for a bottled beer! Aftertaste -reminiscent of coffee, although not overdone or long lasting. Excellent beer – places number TWO porter on my list...Great Lakes EF #1 drinkability...i had 12

seriously...a GREAT Porter imo.
4.7... guzzles...outa 5

Well, I tried three new brews tonight (at the Old Chicago downtown, Fluffhead).

Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (bottle) - really enjoyed this one
Erdinger Weissbier (draught) - excellent, might be my new favorite, and it came in a fun glass
Founder's Breakfast Stout (draught) - actually a dark beer I enjoy, and I could really taste the coffee in it - also just looked it up online and found out it is 8.3% ABV, probably why I'm feeling a bit tipsy right now.

Whoa, Breakfast Stout! Already in veteran beer drinking mode! I love that stuff. The key for me is letting it warm up for awhile. Flavors really come out when it's not ice cold. Good to see you're enjoying some new brews!

And Motown...all 12 Anchor porters in one sitting? That's an impressive feat! Our top two porters line up exactly!

Yeah, my friend got one and I tried some just for kicks and I was shocked to find that I enjoyed it. And I'm not even much of a coffee fan. Thanks for the tip on letting it warm up too, I will keep that in mind.

Had a Breckenridge 471 IPA last night. Tasty, but maybe a little sweet or fruity, even for an IPA for me. I know a lot of IPAs have that quality to them, but I don't want that to be the dominant flavor. Also had a Magic Hat H-IPA, better balance of sweet & hoppy. And it was only $3 ($1 off for happy hour) while the other was $5.80 (before HH)...

I love living in Colorado where we have all these breweries. I need to go on the Flying Dog tour... the brewery is like 5 blocks from work, as is Great Divide. The New Belgium tour is supposed to be pretty sweet too, but I'm not in Ft. Collins very often at all.

Going to Old Chicago for a retirement party Happy Hour tonight after work, so I'll be partaking in some nice beers. It's been cold outside, so I'll probably end up drinking something black as death and high ABV heh.

I can't get down with really hoppy beers like IPAs... if I drink something lighter, it's normally a wheat beer or a Belgian white ale.. that skunky hops taste turns me off from beers. Haven't added that to my palette yet I guess... maybe I'll magically start enjoying it like I did with olives.

I'm about the opposite. I don't care for wheats and I'm not too fond of Belgian whites, so particularly in the warmer months, I go for IPAs. To each his own...

I do like the darker/heavier stuff as well. I had a fantastic Hershey's chocolate stout in the Bear's Den at the Hershey Lodge in February. Not sure who brews it, but it was damn tasty. The Church Brew Works here in Pittsburgh had a red pepper stout that was weird -- it actually burned a little going down -- but wonderful because of it...

Went out last night and had the Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale, which was really nice.. It is nice and malty and doesn't have that alcohol twang that some dark beers do... it's 7.7% ABV. Had 3 of them at Old Chicago and was feeling pretty good the rest of the night.

Question for yall fine folks. I am not a expert when it comes to beers. I have always been a whiskey man. But recently I have been diving into some different kinds of beers.

I would like yall opinion on them to see where I am at on the scale of what is considered good, bad, excellent, and what you all recommend. What do yall rank these, and what do yal suggest I pick up on the way home tonight??

Recently been drinking.

The Blue Moon is an excellent summer brew...great on a hot day. I'm more of a Dark beer connoisseur myself. I'm having Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout for Opening Day Baseball

I've never had this beer, but from the reviews i don't think i'll be disappointed.
Have y'all had this yet...if so, how is it? thanks

Originally a drink for lactating mothers, oatmeal stout was described as nutritional on early labels. Oats are in the same family as barley, and a small addition yields great flavor. Popular in the late 1800’s, the last oatmeal stout was brewed before the First World War until Samuel Smith reintroduced this style in 1980

SS Oatmeal Stout is friggin' great... pricey, but great. We used to go to a place in the South Side of Pittsburgh called Piper's Pub that had Gaelic food and lots of good beers. My winter meal of choice was a gigantic plate of sheppard's pie and two SS Oatmeals...
