Anybody else thinks Netflix has a special deal with the Post Office?

I sent a movie back yesterday late LATE in the afternoon and I go to my queue and not only did they get the movie back but already have sent off my next one. They claim I should get it tomorrow. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it's sitting in the mail box now. lol. No way regular mail travels that fast. They gotta be getting a hook up with the US Mail so that if they see those little red envelopes they hustle to get them out fast.

I think once it is received by the Postal service it sends a notification to netflix. they also have shipping centers all over the country.

I wonder exactly how they do it. I mean it's crazy fast.

I love that I can get a movie on monday, watch it monday night, ship it out tuesday morning, and have a new movie coming back to me on Wednesday.

It's a nice little system they have going.

Its because the post office can scan those netflix envelopes and if they do then it notifies them that its on its way and they clear a spot in your queue right away. The downside is if you live in an area where the post office doesnt scan ****, which was my problem, then you dont get that lightning fast delivery times so consider yourself lucky.

Yeah, they supposedly do that same thing with GameFly, but it never seems to work -- I gues spost offices or distribution centers have to have the equipment or agree to do the scans. Seems like NetFlix has that in place in every major city or something, because I get mine back the day after I mail them... great system.

Nice - I don't get that turn around at all. I send mine back and it takes maybe 2-3 days to get the next one.

Yeah I'm in Denver and they have a distribution center here, so it only takes 1 day to get from them to me -- that's the key to the speed. Not all cities have that -- if you were in Grand Junction, CO, it would probably be 2-3 days due to the post delay from Denver.

I wonder what % of mail is DVD rentals either from netflix or blockbuster.

Yeah...Netflix is great, but Gamefly takes twice as long, sucks hardcore. I just wish they'd merge or something and make things go quicker.

Yeah, I'm canceling my GameFly this month. I've had Fable 2 for almost 2 months because nothing else interesting was coming out... I should buy something with my last $5 of rewards and be done with it... $16.40 or whatever it is now is too much for the laggy service... I love their game discounts, but I haven't really bought any lately so it's not worth the monthly expense.

Yeah after I tried the Netflix trial, I figured I'd see what was up with Gamefly. That 16 bucks a month is too much imo, especially for just one game out at a time. I'm sticking with Netflix though; at least two movies a week for 8.99 a month is just sweet. I put my last rental in the mail yesterday and the next one should be here tomorrow. Recommending it to some of my friends as well.

Even better is Netflix' "watch instantly" feature.
Not new or all the top notch movies...but there are some really good ones in there.
Plus some tv series and documentaries....
                              Very nice.
