We will get the blood test results back tomorrow. I just hope it comes back ok. I love this damn dog so much, I don't know if I can deal with anything seriously being wrong with him again.

More problems with my dog :(
Some of you might remember my dog having to have emergency surgery last year to remove an obstruction. Now he is having seizures. He went to the vet today and the DR. thinks he has epilepsy. Which isn't a huge deal, but they took blood to make sure nothing else is wrong. They also found an abnormality in his eye. They said its probably nothing, but I am still worried.

Re: More problems with my dog
Damn man, that sounds terrible! I love animals as much as anyone, and it's depressing to hear stories like this.
I'll be looking out for this thread. I pray he pulls through!

Re: More problems with my dog
Thanks man, I really appreciate it. As long as the blood test comes back ok I think everything will be fine. The Vet didn't seem to concerned about the eye thing. He said maybe in a couple months he will check it out again. I am just so damn nervous. I just want to hear the blood test was good so bad.Comment

Re: More problems with my dog
I just found out my parents dog died. He has been sick for a while. He was a yellow lab. Went from 120lbs to 60lbs over the last few months. I knew it was coming, but man this has just been a horrible day. My wife has 2 dogs die in her arms today at the humane society. One was only 8 weeks old.
Sorry for the doom and gloom, I am just really down right now.Comment

Re: More problems with my dog
My first dog had epilepsy and lived to 15 (which is old for a Spaniel). It is nothing to worry about and will not affect his life expectancy. I am sure the blood results will be fine. It is normal to obsess after a traumatic experience, and I think everything will work out great for you.Comment

Re: More problems with my dog
I know exactly how you feel. I know I've brought it up before and people have made fun of me for it, but I have a guinea pig and love her more than anything! She's four now, turning five in July. Guinea pigs live to be 5 - 8 years old normally, but she has a weak system. She was shipped from Florida to here and she was ready to be put to sleep before we got her even as a baby because the damn pet store wasn't taking care of her right (yes, she was two months old). We turned her around and she is stronger than ever, we spoil her more than anything else.
But to know that within three years she'll be gone is saddening. It's even worse when I'm away from her and at school. I really don't know what I'll do when she's gone, and I am going to feel exactly like you are right now.
Again, I'm really sorry.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: More problems with my dog
From what I have learned is that sometimes it is best to just break down and let everything out. Why put extra stress on yourself during tough times anyways. Remember that friends and family are also going to be there for you, as well as your OS Family.Comment

He wants us to keep a log if he has any more seizures. Wants to see him back in a couple months to look at his eye.
