I have always had this theory, but going to the Wizards game last night really brought home that point.

I understand people think that throwing sex into any and everything will make people interested, but do men REALLY want to be sexually distracted while they are trying to enjoy sports? I know I don't. Yea they look good and all but there are good looking women everywhere. I don't need to be reminded while I am trying to enjoy a GAME. Hell, some dudes don't even wanna "hit" their wives/gf's while a game is on IN THEIR OWN HOME, what makes anyone think that people want to watch some fake prissy/happy females dance during games we are paying to go see.

I just feel sorry for these girls and their choreographers for spending so much time in their craft and nobody really giving a damn about it/them. Just look at the fan reactions to them. Pity applauds after their between quarter routines.

I know some of you will throw the gay card out; just save it for a second and try to think logically about it.

I don't know maybe it is just me, but I really think we should be past the whole dancers/cheerleader stage ESPECIALLY for pro sports.

lol I used to tell my girl this all the time (she used to cheer so she would be taking up for them.)

and outside of high school you can't even hear what they are sayin, so they can't even "lead cheers".

but as a man I think it would be wrong of me for any reason to remove scantily clad women from anywhere.

LMAO Funny you mention this because me and my Pops were talking about this while watching the Wizards Game. I told him "Why do these teams still have Cheerleaders at the games when almost nobody is paying attention to them" when there is too much action on the court going on.

Football I can sort of understand why they have them but Basketball I don't know why they still have them lol.

I don't understand why football has them at all. It could be freezing in Green Bay in the middle of December and they will be out there.

I agree with DC, they seemed very forced. I'm glad they don't pay hardly anything as it's seems like it's a stepping stone for branching out into video whoredom.

I'm not really a fan of cheerleaders. Didn't really like them in high school all that much. It's more of a personal thing though. I could careless if someone thought I was homo. I just never understood the reasoning behind it. Sometimes, it's good to get different types of "acts" in there. Variety is the key to keeping the interest. I think the reasoning is lost throughout the ages of sports though. Do they have cheerleaders in baseball??

1. Believe it or not, the dancers are as much for the women as they are for the guys. Misogynistic as it sounds, women like to talk about how fat, skinny, cute, uncute the dancers are just as they like to watch the routines and criticize them. Women like dancing and they like costumes. They watch the dancers for a completely different reason than men.

2. They are going to do SOMEthing between the action, and that something can't be basketball because the players are resting. Nothing wrong with a bunch of twenty-somethings throwing their saran wrapped booties in my face for a two minute routine. Nothing wrong with that at all. :o

Yea there are some good looking ones for the Wizards; but none of them have hooters. Hell their hooters seem to be taped or sports bras to prevent bouncing

DC you're just mad because the Wizards dance team is horrible. From the ridiculous 80's rock music they dance to, to the dancing itself.

You just want the organization to fill the time between qtrs/to's w/ shooting chipotle burritos out into the crowd for the entire game huh?

I mean I really have no problem w/it, it doesn't irritate me that its there, but in the same respect if it went away I could careless.
