Yeah...depends on how old you are too...I know that at 28 I don't recover as fast from a sprained ankle as I would at 18...

Well I'm just 20, so still young. I still have pain, not a whole lot. It only hurts a little when I run, jump, or pretty much put a bunch of weight on it. It doesn't hurt when I walk (with the exception being after I played on it on Saturday). But as some of you said, I don't want a reinjury so I'm gonna keep it slow for now. I think 2 weeks max and I should be 100%.

Thanks for the link Joey P, I'll try that some.

One of the best ways that I've gotten over many of sprained ankles is this treatment. Icing my ankle in a bucket of water for 15 minutes and immediately dunking the foot in a bucket of luke warm water for 15 minutes. I rotate the buckets for about a couple of hours. This treatment is the best way to get the initial swelling down.

Another treatment is cutting a horseshoe out of a small sponge and placing it around the ankle with a sock over the other sock. The extra sock will keep it stabilized. Your foot might get a bit bruised but it will push the swelling out of the injured ankle to other areas of your foot. This will allow you to play at a higher level while the ankle fully recovers.

        Hope this helps.

tape your ankle till its throbbing! Just kidding but even when you feel 100% tape it up, or use an ace bandage even for about 2weeks after you feel 100%...like an earlier poster said, re-injuries hurt and can cause super-cereal damage.

Ice is good, but might want to wake up an hour early in the am to walk around and get your ankle loose.

I sprained my ankle 6 times while playing high school football. Each time seemed like the recovery time was shorter. So hopefully this isnt your first time and maybe the recovery time will be shorter than what your used to.

I've sprained this ankle before (once more of a biggie, the rest more minor), so it's my problem ankle now. Just been a while since I've sprained it.

I should be ok, but good idea about getting up early. Luckily I don't work on my feet, so I can survive a bit easier than back when I jacked it up and had to walk miles to class in college.

Just pisses me off because I just was slowing down during warm up and somehow landed on it wrong...even the pro was saying "Man, that's brutal...you run all over the court like crazy and this is how you hurt it?"

Today it's not so bad...still hurts (especially when I touch it), but I can actually walk ok. I'll be out for a week or two, but this isn't that horrible thankfully.

It's the worst feeling to injure some part of your body.

I can walk pretty well (it's stiff a bit but not really hurting much). I'm not pushing it though. My ankle's also pretty bruised, but within a day or two that'll be gone...

Yea because then you always seem to hit that part of your body.
