    Question about web site links

Not sure if this appropriate spot for this question, bur here goes...........

I've noticed that some people have links to another website or maybe a thread/forum on here, but the link itself is not the web address (http addy). It is instead a word or phrase that describes what the link is for (i.e. LINK TO MY SLIDERS).

How is this done?? I want to post a link to my player stats in a MLB 09 league that I'm in. Want the link to describe the purpose for the link.

I've tried a few things on here and can't seem to figure this out.

    Any help??

Type what you want to be displayed "espn". Then select/highlight the text, then click hyperlink, type in the address, and your done.

Heh, I never knew how to do it that way. I always did it like this:

      <url=http: espn.go.com="">{url=http://espn.go.com/}espn{/url}</url=http:>

      (replace "{}" with "[]")

Type the link after the equal sign, then close it with another bracket and type what you want it to say afterward.

I guess this is the same thing, right?

Then once you have that link in place, click the icon bar that says "insert link" (it's right below the smilie application)

When you do that, it'll then post up the link with a HIGHLIGHT bar somewhere in the middle where you can modify what you would like it to say.

Thanks for the response. This is exactly how someone told me how to do it in a PM. Works like a charm
