Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Yeah, there's no avoiding this...I'd run into it while online dating and just had to pass on them when I got more pictures. Sucks to be brutal, but I'm tall and skinny, just not into a lot bigger girls...curves are one thing, but 250+ just isn't for me or my lifestyle.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

"You know what? Your eyes are the same color as my Porsche."
This one took it a bit too personal.

ummm....... nope that is not a joke to say to NO one man or women so if your Porsche was red that would look good on my eyes? if someone saw my eyes looking red they would only think one thing and that would be that i am high.

I must be lucky. I don't encounter this that often and I have pretty high body standards so I am picky when it comes to what is average. It's the classic super close up, above angle profile picture.Comment

Anyone down for a profile content critique? I tried to be unique, not sure if I failed horrendously or not.
SpoilerMy self-summary
8 random facts.
I...
make amazing pb&j sandwiches.
listen to music (obviously) Favorite bands = Randy Rogers Band, Emery, Rise Against.
like the Dallas Mavericks.
have a YouTube channel with short films that has almost 1 million views.
go to a lot of concerts/shows.
work for a hospital doing IT related stuff.
graduated with a Bachelors degree in December.
currently work in Arlington, will be moving there or Dallas at some point this summer (currently live in [a nice town just outside Dallas]).
What I’m doing with my life
I help the people who save lives. So... I help save lives? I have a CPR certification at least!
After the 8-5 is over I either stay around the house or go play ultimate frisbee and beach volleyball.
I’m really good at
I always thought I am very coordinated. Which makes up for the pure athleticism I seem to be missing. It allows me to be decent at the most random sports and skills.
The first things people usually notice about me
I wanted to say height, but it's probably the lankiness over the height.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Jurassic Park. Back to the Future. National Treasure. Inception. Toy Story. Titanic (I consider this my one chick flick).
Books: Hunger Games. Jurassic Park. I really do wish I read more. I just bought a Kindle and joined Prime so now I guess I have to!
Music: Randy Rogers Band. Emery. Rise Against. The entire Texas Country genre (Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott Band, Kevin Fowler, etc.) . Alternative rock and I can go for some top 40 every once in a while. If you have heard of the Larry Joe Taylor Music Festival then you will be a perfect match for me.
Shows: Dexter. Psych. Homeland. 24. How I Met Your Mother. Whose Line Is It Anyway. Smallville. Breaking Bad. Parks and Rec. The League. Doctor Who. Freaks and Geeks. Currently going the mature route and watching The West Wing.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
At the moment trying to find a nice apartment in or around Arlington or Uptown.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hopefully I am swimming in a pool somewhere. The best thing about the Texas heat is you won't be freezing when it comes time to get out at 2 or 3 in the morning!

I finally learned how to whistle a few months ago.

Girls who like guys
Ages 20–25

Who are single
For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
I am gonna be cliche and say if you made it this far you should probably message me!
Or if you can name one Randy Rogers Band song.
I think my profile pics are pretty good. They probably make me look a point or two better than what I really am. They show me having fun. One I'm on a jet ski and another in a horse mask so I figured I was good there.Comment

I think on online dating websites, it's best to portray yourself as you are and your profile seems genuine. Again, good job.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Do less lists or at least mix the styles up a little bit. So for one category maybe do a little write up about working out or music and then the next do a five item list of something. I feel like lists just make it easier to scan and get through a profile and move on to the next one. The tricky part is walking that fine line between writing too much and saying too little. Plus, little blocks of information will give your profile a better "voice" of yourself rather than just listing things you like.
Also a little minor detail, but I would refrain from including "hanging around the house" as a hobby/activity. You have to sell yourself as active/exciting to bring people in and that is typically a turn off. I'm not saying you have to lie, but about emphasizing certain aspects and downplaying (or completely leaving out) other things.

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I swear when it rains it pours for me. Got a few girls from Okc that I've been talking to the past few days and got some days lined up with a couple, but I also got this chick from work that I've kinda been digging that invited me out last night and we had a good time. I guess it's always better to have too many options than too few.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I just re-opened my OKC account. I met someone great on it last time and she moved away. Life, you know.
This time I put up a picture (I didn't last time. It was just an action shot of me pitching). And the response rate has been much much higher, at least in terms of being rated and getting visitors.
I'm not expecting a lot of return because I'm being super blunt in my profile (not looking for a long term relationship, just looking for someone to hang out with and, you know, do things...).
But that will cut the chase and leave out the girls that are looking for so much more. If they message me, I can only assume they know where I'm coming from and want the same.
I've also found that even if someone rates you highly and you rate them back and send a message, they will still not respond to your message.
Good ol' women of OKC. Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I figure they just went through that quick match thing and were just rating everyone that came up for the heck of it. Features like that I always thought were weird in the first place.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I take it back. One of the proper matches did write back. So did someone that I know rated me highly but OKC ignored to acknowledge as such in our young email chain.
So far so good. Back in the game, baby.

I found Quick Match really useful when I was on. Very little investment and when I had a lady rate me highly as well, they always responded to my message.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
