I like to call people by their last name and watch them get pissed.

I'll say, "What's up, Mr. Battle, Jr.?"

The Jr. hits them everytime.

I'm the opposite of this. I'm in the Military so I NEVER hear my first name, whenever I go home on leave it's always weird hearing my first name because my family and friends call me by my first name. But all my military friends, co-workers etc its all on a last name basis.

It just depends on the context for me. If it's me and friends or former teamates, last names (or nick names) are still just a habbit. In fact, I probably don't call but a handfull of those guys by their first name. On a professional level, it's almost always first name, but there are a small group that I am friendly with that somehow we happen to get into the last name thing. Regardless, after playing baseball for almost 20 years, I got used to it and it doesn't bother me either way.

My last name is actually a girl's first name (also a guy's first name here), so it's kinda weird. I've been called by my last name most of the years at school becuase they always confused my first name with my last name, no matter how many times I corrected them.

It doesn't bother me and I actually preferred it as many people butcher my first name.

And I tend to call people by their last name, it's just a habit I've developed over the years.

Doesn't bother me at all. Almost everyone I know calls me by my last name, aside from my family and close friends.

It seems like most of my guy friends call me by my last name or some sort of nickname, but most of the ladies I know call me by my first name.

I'm used to it from playing sports, all my close friends either call me by my last name or a version they thought up.

I have a pretty unique last name, but in college I only went by my last name from day one everyone just used that instead. In fact, I can't remember the last time any one of my friends addressed me by my first name.

In fact, I met a girl at a party and we started hanging out. It wasn't til about 3 weeks later that she realized she didn't even know my first name. I think she thought I was like Prince and only had 1 name. She wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer though.

I am similar to fistofrage, almost all my friends call me by my last name. When I first started dating my wife, it was a little strange hearing someone use my first name so much.
