Re: Twitter
@A_Armella
I see it as an extended outlet to share my thoughts honestly and to connect with like-minded individuals, which I might not have in person.
Definitely took me awhile to get on board. Its funny, as you get older resistance to new fads gets stronger but sometimes if you don't keep up with the times you get left behind. All of a sudden you wake up one day and don't understand the new tech of the day.Comment

Just going on a little honest rant here.
This OS Twitter thread is pretty worthless if you're looking for quality individuals. It's just like a Facebook popularity contest who has the most friends BS. Either the people follow you and then put you on mute/ignore or they just don't give a **** about you as a person.
My mom has been in the hospital for months undergoing a bone marrow transplant. She passed away last Friday the 17th, the day after my birthday. During the ordeal I tweeted her condition, status, progress and finally tweeted about losing her.
Not one of my OS followers expressed sorrow, sympathy or said their condolences.
Maybe I'm the ******* here and not liked very much. But why follow me if that's what you think? I've needed a great deal of help the last few months and my OS twitter followers provided me zero.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I encourage you to start a thread in the OS neighborhood about it, I guarantee you that everyone who follows you on twitter will chime in with appropriate thoughts and feelings to help you out.
You have to understand that twitter is an up to the minute thing and if people aren't on twitter when you post this stuff they miss it, I wouldn't take it personal.
I know if I'm away for an hour I miss more than 200 tweets and never go back to read what I missed so I don't think it's as harsh as you make it out to be and not to mention, it's hard to express true condolences through the medium of twitter.
Please, if you need people to talk to, post a thread in the neighborhood, I promise you, OS won't let you down, there have many that have been in your shoes and have gotten tons of great advice.Comment

Thank you kehlis.
I do understand all your points about twitter but to go through such a thing for months, you'd think at least one person would have read something and had kind words to say.
As you say, twitter is very much a medium of the moment and that's pretty much all the time I've had for myself the last months, a moment here and there. I tried many times to make a post in the neighborhood as I've read similar threads before. Something always got in the way of my post, tears mostly.
I also understand that I'm very depressed right now and probably a lot bitchy then normal so everyone take that into consideration. This thread is also not the place for a continued discussion regarding my loss so I'm just going to leave it be.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

But like kehlis said, it is easy to miss tweets by some people because of the constant flow of tweets. I check twitter multiple times a day but can go days without seeing a tweet from some poeple simply because they weren't tweeting at the time I was checking twitter. I do remember seeing 2 tweets from you last week, but they didn't convey the seriousness of the situation and I didn't feel the need to follow up. However, now knowing how serious the situation was, I do regret not following up to see what was going on and I am sorry.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

My wife posts and comments on facebook all the time, she lives it. I'm not on it as much, usually just a reader and not a big poster.
Sometimes people just consume what other people write, but don't really interact as much.
I wouldn't take it personally.
I'm sorry for everything you're going through though, I can only imagine how tough it must be!Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Twitter
Sorry you are going through such a difficult time. I never saw the Tweets, but I am not certain I am following you either.
I understand where you are coming from, but like others said. If I go an hour without checking Twitter, I am 200+ Tweets behind, I sometimes go back and read, but I usually don't.Comment

Re: Twitter
Sorry for your loss Mabster. I lost my mom when I was 13. She died 2 days before her 38 birthday. I turn 38 in a week and I can tell its going to be hard on me.
What kehlis said about not taking twitter and the number of replies to heart. I tweet everyone once in a while, but I never go back and check what people have posted earlier before I got on.
I definitely would've commented about the loss of someone's mother.
I've been on OS long enough to know that the guys here are a good group and they are very supportive of other members daily thoughts.
Hang in there man. One thing I've learned is, it doesn't get easier, you just find different was to get through the day. Sometimes taking to people
That hardly know you is a perfect way to get by.
