Today is the anniversary of great tornado outbreak of 1974. On that day, 148 tornadoes spawned over the Midwest including 6 F5 tornadoes.

This was the worst tornado outbreak in US history.

Where's MMChris? This is his avenue, right?

Man, tornado's can be scary. I would love to chase one though. I hate hearing those sirens.

Someone was telling me a little about it today at work. I had heard about it before but didn't know much about it. Thanks for the link. The number of intense tornadoes that spawned from that is crazy.

EDIT: Just talked to my mom. She always told me about a tornado she saw from her apartment window that created hail which damaged her car pretty bad. I never made the connection until now that it was the one in 1974 that hit Sayler Park on the west-side of Cincinnati. I always thought the one she was talking about happened in the late 60's or something.
