Every Sports Game Should Have Spectator Mode

It's 2009, why isn't spectator mode standard in all sports games? I think it would add a lot to leagues and the general online experience. When I'm Xbox Live parties there are often times when two of my friends are playing each other in something. It would be really cool to pop in and watch the game in progress. I know this probably isn't a big deal to a lot of you, but I really hope they start including this feature sooner than later.

With game creators going after an older demographic, it's just not a feature that many grown-ups want. I'm sure some do, but most people are boggled down with their everyday lives and so a game with spectator mode will not make them want to buy the game any more then a game without it.

Even me personally, I used to play all games to get realistic stats in the total score, as in I'd adjust the quarter length in nba games to get average scores around 100. But now I couldn't care less what the final score is as long as the gameplay is realistic during that short span.
