Lived in Japan for a year when I was in the Marines. Turned 21 over there (27 now), and was an awesome time...BUT...Also gave me a new found love for my home and America in general, as I missed a lot of what makes our country so great.
Where are you going?

I spent my last year in the Air Force in Japan. The people were really nice but the drawback was it was too crowded. Imagine sticking everyone in the US in California. I ended up getting out two weeks before the world trade.
I lived in Aruba for 13 months and it was as you can imagine GREAT!
I worked there providing tools to the recontruction of their oil refinery. I was suppose to be there for 5 years but the job was cancelled early. It was an absolute blast living there, I lived in a house on the beach the last 10 months I was there. The first 3 months I lived in the Holiday Inn which was always filled with good looking honeys! lol
The only downer about living there was just being a foreinger. 1/2 of the island is great and full of nice Hotels, the other half is really third world and not so nice. Not a place I wanted to be late at night. The best part about living there was the women, lets just say they really like American men! (They think we are all rich!) I made friends with a couple younger Aruban guys who worked for me and they really showed me a different side of the island. They told me where and where not to hang out and introduced me to alot of "NICE" Aruban women.
